Rangers Big Man looks as if he will return tonight
|
|
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 1:24:15 PM - April 30, 2012
Reports coming out of this mornings Rangers optional skate from Andrew Gross among others, seems to be that Brian Boyle will return to the Rangers for Game 2 tonight at the World's Most Famous Arena where the Rangers are looking to take a 2-0 advantage over the Washington Capitals. Boyle has skated and worked out now for a few days without any setbacks and the Rangers are a much better team with Boyle's bigtime scoring this postseason included. The Rangers are actually 3-0 without Boyle, but that is mainly because the addition of Chris Kreider, return from suspension of Carl Hagelin, along with the rest of the team stepping it up and playing Rangers Hockey.
The Rangers have bought into Coach John Tortorella's system and it not only got them the Eastern Conference regular seasons best record, a first round series win against the Senators, but also got him a Jack Adams finalist nomination as the best coach in the NHL this season. In a season in which all the players bought into the TEAM concept, individual nomination for awards have gone out to the coach and Henrik Lundqvist for the Vezina Trophy as the best goalie and the Hart trophy for MVP for the regular season. It is easier for the players to feed into the coaches gameplan but Tort's has done the unthinkable since he has arrived in New York, he has gotten the Rangers General Manager Glen Sather to buy into his vision of how to build a team worhty of New York. Coach Totorella wants a hardworking, close knit, all for one mentality just like the city of New York has. Of course people say how can you say that about New Yorkers, but when something happens in the city that never sleeps, the people of the capital of the world pull together no matter what. This Rangers team pulls together for the common good without a second thought. The Rangers haven't traded away it's talented group of young players or any core players for the bigtime scorer or defenseman. The only additions from outside the organization during this season has been role players like John Scott, Anton Stralman, and Jeff Woywitka in which only Stralman has seen any playoff action.
If the Rangers didn't learn anything from the last time they played these same Capitals in the playoffs is ONE SHIFT AT A TIME is the way to beat them. You take off a shift and the puck will be in the back of the net. The Rangers are a well coached team with alot of individual talent and team toughness, now they just need to play RANGERS HOCKEY and the sky is the limit. LET'S GO RANGERS!!!
