► RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th
Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:
Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.
The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

Rangers Sniper needs to step up his game and play in the "dirty areas"
|
|
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 10:10:34 AM - May 11, 2012
This years New York Rangers may not be the most talented team, but what they do have is the leagues best goalie, a great young defense, a few scorers, and a team chemistry that made them the best team in the Eastern Conference during the regular season. This years playoffs have seen most of the top regular season teams knocked out already and this Saturday the Rangers season is on the line. In it's second game 7 of this years playoffs, the Rangers home ice advantage should be the edge they need in this very odd series against Washington. Rangers hope it stays very odd as the Rangers have won games 1,3,5 and hopefully 7.
The Rangers are a shotblocking machine and get alot of their offense from their defensive play. The Rangers forcheck and play in their defensive zone is strong. This is in contrast to the "trap systems" of the NHL past that had 5 guys waiting in between the two bluelines. The Rangers need to get back to RANGERS HOCKEY. Players like Marian Gaborik need to get into the "dirty areas". The NHL's top goalie needs to play his game. The solid defense need to block shots like they have all season and move the puck up ice quickly. On the offensive side they need to move the puck quickly as the Caps are playing Rangers hockey and blocking shots. They need to play the puck down low and let the forwards cycle or have a forward skate into the high slot for an open shot which will either force a shotblocker to stay back or make a defenseman play up and give the Rangers an open man in front of the net for a deflection or a screen. The forwards need to crash the friggoin net with reckless abandon. The last few games the Rangers have played in the corners and behind the net more than in the high quality scoring areas. The Rangers need to pay the price to make the play if they want to get to the next round.
The Rangers are in control of their own destination because of their hard work and determination. They have home ice advantage because of the great work the did in the regular season. Now let's go GARDEN FAITHFUL and help the Rangers to VICTORY!! Tort's, lets put the lines back together of Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik/ Kreider-Stepan-Callahan/ Anisimov-Boyle-Mitchell/ and whoever on the 4th line because Tort's only uses 3 lines anyway in the playoffs. On defense since their won't be any fights, Add Steve Eminger in for Stu Bickel and maybe that will also give the players a lift as Tort's trusts Eminger more than he does Bickel and the Eminger is one of those players that the team pulls for and will be glad to see added into the game.
LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!
