RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

Coach Tortorella makes the media focus on him and takes pressure off his players.

Tort's Takes the focus off the Rangers
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 2:09:40 PM - May 17, 2012

Say what you want about Rangers coach John Tortorella, but he does what he feels his team needs at any cost.  If he feels a player hasn't done his job and wants to make a point, he will no matter who it is like he did last night to Marian Gaborik. He may not be the best interview after a game win or lose but the NHL Broadcasters voted him as a Jack Adams finalist for a reason. He was fined twice in interviews for " using profanity" for a total of $50,000 during interviews. The Rangers are now even at 1-1 with the Newark Devils with the games moving to the Newark Housing Authourity's Arena that will no doubt have alot of Rangers  fans cheering for their Rangers to take a lead in this series and move onto a chance to battle for the Stanley Cup.

So, now onto the Rangers and what they have to change. NOTHING! The Rangers played a good Rangers style game but just didn't get the puck bounces last night. They started with a wraparound from Prust and it went right under Broduer but hit post and bounced out. They had Broduer beat as he dove head first but just donkey kicked his leg behind him and the puck hit his skate. They beat Broduer  glove high and the puck hit Fayne who was behind Broduer in his crease. Broduer was beat put Chris Kreider hit the post and it bounced away. During a series, everything balances out so everything will be O.K. Stay playing RANGERS HOCKEY and it will all work itself out.

The Devils made an adjustment by sitting out Adam Larsson and  add Peter Harrold seemed to have paid off. In the long term, coach Deboer has a big fence to mend with the rookie but in the short term it paid off last night. The Rangers went right after Larsson and changed it up alittle by not doing the same with Harrold. The Rangers dump game on banf the Devils defense will easily bring Devils turnovers but the Rangers have to be committed to the Rangers Way, EVER PLAYER.  Marian Gaborik got sat in the third last night for not playing the Rangers way and it might have cost the Rangers the win. Expect the Rangers and especially Gaborik to come out flying in Newark on Saturday and take a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Semi's.

Team USA lost to Finland today and are now out of playoff contention. wonder if Callahan, McDonagh, Parise, and Brown(L.A.) would have helped?
