RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

Anisimov is the 2nd line center that Columbus was looking for.

Nash is A Ranger
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 2:59:26 PM - July 23, 2012

In the game of who blinks first, it seems that Columbus G.M. has closed his eyes. Rangers G.M. Glen Sather has seemed to pulled off another great deal by keeping the Rangers core intact while getting a premier power forward who can help the Rangers scroring woes. The Rangers are reported to have given up Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon, and a #1 draft in next years draft for Rick Nash.

The Rangers forwards now seem to have all fallen into place at this time but Sather might not be done yet. Larry Brooks tweeted that he also wants Shane Doan and that would also fit in, but Nash by himself is a great move to take the next step. Also in this deal the Rangers got 21 year old minor league defenseman Steve Delisle who stands at 6'6" and 234 lbs, Jeff Buekeboom should mold him well in Hartford this coming year. The Rangers also get the Columbus 3rd round pick if they don't reach the NHL finals--that is a pick thatthe Rangers would gladly give back!!!

The Rangers lines could now look something like (while Gaborik is out):
Nash/Richards/Hagelin
Kreider/Stepan/Callahan
Pyatt/Boyle/Thomas
Rupp/Halpern/Asham.

Once Gabby gets back the lines should be:

Hagelin/Richards/Nash
Kreider/Stepan/Gaborik
Pyatt/Boyle/Callahan
Rupp/Halpern/Asham.

Let's see if that is the last move or if Glen has another robbery he can commit.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!
