RUMOR MILL

Wednesday - June 26th

Elliot Friedmman of Sportsnet, reports that the Avalanche weren't willing to include the 16th overall pick to the Rangers in exchange for Chris Kreider.

Wonder who else wasn't willing to include a first rounder for him. Part of the problem of course is his UFA status next year, and then the expansion draft after that.

Notes From Practice
Posted by Toby Ivey ≡ 12:32:26 PM - May 1, 2013

The Rangers head off to D.C. later today, as they continue their preparation for tomorrow's Game 1 match-up with the Capitals.  All four injured players will make the trip with the team, although none are expected to be in the line-up tomorrow.

Brian Boyle and Ryane Clowe remain off the ice, while Derek Dorsett is still yet to get clearance on his broken clavicle, and remains in the non-contact jersey.  Marc Staal told reporters today that he probably won't play in Game 1, which could be promising in the sense that there was even a possibility he could.

Henrik Lundqvist did return to practice, after taking the day off yesterday.  As for whether the Rangers are ready, John Tortorella told Pan Leonard of the NY Daily News "We're sick of practicing. We're not used to it. Especially this year, you're playing every other day ... It's a long time (off)."

Unlike the previous two sessions, the Rangers went with a single session today.
