RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

Dominic Moore returns to the Rangers eight years later

Dominic Moore To Return To NY
Posted by Toby Ivey ≡ 3:48:21 PM - July 5, 2013

After a one year hiatus from the NHL following the death of his wife, former Ranger draft pick Dominic Moore will return to the team when he began his career.  The Rangers have signed Moore to a 1 year $1M contract, and will likely use him as a fourth line center, and PK specialist.

Moore was originally drafted by the Rangers and made his NHL debut in 2003 with the club, recording three assists in five games.  He followed that up with nine goals and nine assists in a full 82 game following the 2004-05 locked out season, only to be traded to the Nashville Predators for Adam Hall, who in turn sent him to Pittsburgh before the season started.

Now 33, Moore has played for nine different clubs, with a career high of 18 goals in 2010-11 with the Tampa Bay Lightning, and 41 points back with the 2008-09 Toronto Maple Leafs.

Side note, the Rangers will have to add an initial to his jersey this season, as they now have John Moore on the blueline.
