RUMOR MILL

Wednesday - June 26th

Elliot Friedmman of Sportsnet, reports that the Avalanche weren't willing to include the 16th overall pick to the Rangers in exchange for Chris Kreider.

Wonder who else wasn't willing to include a first rounder for him. Part of the problem of course is his UFA status next year, and then the expansion draft after that.

Will Carcillo be under control or Avery-Like

Rangers add Carcillo
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 6:26:28 PM - January 6, 2014

The Rangers G.M. Glen Sather made a small trade with the L.A. Kings and acquired Dan Carcillo for a conditional 7th round pick in 2014. The only issue with this as far as I can see, is that the Rangers sent that pick to San Jose with Tommy Grant for  Brandon Mashinter. It was a conditional pick in the 7th round of 2014, but I am not sure of what the condition was. It would seem that whatever the condition was, it wasn't fulfilled. The Rangers did sign him this offseason which is usually the condition but I have searched everywhere possible and can not find out what the condition was. So, it seems like a no-brainer to bring in a player like Carcillo as he will force the Rangers to always play hard because with Carcillo playing on the edge like he has his whole career to date, the other teams will bring intensity which is something that this years Rangers have lacked in many games.

There is alot of rumors on many blogs about players such as Michael Del Zotto, Dan Girardi, has Brian Boyle, and even Captain Ryan Callahan being moved out to bring in some new pieces to fit the A.V. mold. This Rangers club has started to pull it together but still need at least a change or two to become a legit playoff team. These changes along with Hank Lundqvist finding his game on a consistant basis could make this years Rangers a solid team. The question is which is the REAL Rangers team, the team that got crushed out west at the start of the season or the team that plastered Toronto?

The Rangers face many of their old teammates tonight in a possible 4 point divisional faceoff. Out for Columbus is Marian Gaborik who is a unrestricted free agent this summer. Could he return to the Blueshirts? He seems like the type of player that could fit into A.V.'s system. Big game tonight in a division showdown!

Let's Go Rangers!!!
