RUMOR MILL

Wednesday - June 26th

Elliot Friedmman of Sportsnet, reports that the Avalanche weren't willing to include the 16th overall pick to the Rangers in exchange for Chris Kreider.

Wonder who else wasn't willing to include a first rounder for him. Part of the problem of course is his UFA status next year, and then the expansion draft after that.

Going The Distance

UPDATE: The NHL has fined Henrik Lundqvist $5,000 for squirting water at Sidney Crosby at the end of the 2nd period during the scrum. That they think is justified but not doing anything about the Crosby slew foot on Dan Girardi that can cause serious injury is O.K. to do by the NHL? What a joke the NHL is when it comes to their poster child Crosby,

*******************************************************************************************

These New York Rangers are clearly a team on a mission. On a day to remember mothers, Martin St. Louis made a magical moment that few watching this game will ever forget. With St. Louis playing with a heavy heart do to the recent passing of his mother, MSL scored the first goal of the game that had everyone at the Garden on their feet and feeling that they just saw something more than just a goal. In a post game interview on MSG, Henrik Lundqvist said when Marty scored that it brought a tear to his eye knowing what Marty has been through the last few days. Having MSL with them on the ice the last two games has been insperational for the team and when he scored, it sounded like the roof was being blown off the Garden. The Rangers played an inspired game throughout, and the Rangers Faithful were loud throughout the game giving the Rangers that extra something.

With the game close, there were many times that the Rangers had a few breakdowns but Henrik Lundqvist made sure that the Penguins wouldn't get the lead stopping 2 breakaways as highlights. The Rangers goals by St. Louis, Derick Brassard, and Carl Hagelin were all scored from in front of the net! The Rangers are willing to pay the price and it is showing as the Penguins are playing cheap and paying for it with penalties and even when the Rangers aren't scoring on the man advantage, they are now getting good looks and making things happen.

On now onto Pittsburgh for Game #7 on Tuesday at 7pm for a winner takes all to move onto the Eastern Division Finals. 7 Down and 9 to go!!!

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!
