RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

The King looking to make his 9-2 record in elimination games even better.

Alot On The Line In Game #7
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 11:08:07 AM - May 13, 2014

When the Rangers hit the ice tonight in Pittsburgh it is a huge game in many ways. The Rangers are trying to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the 2nd time in three years which shows where the organization stands as one of the better teams in the NHL. I am not a big stat guy, but if I was....the two stats that would stick out for tonights game would be that Pittsburgh has lost their last 3 Game#7's at home and that Henrik Lundqvist is 9-2 in elimination games.

What is also at stake tonight which is small in comparison to making it to the conference finals is the trade of picks the Rangers made for Martin St. Louis. If the Rangers win tonight, the conditional #2 pick (if the Rangers were to lose..this pick would be the 18th pick in the second round) becomes a #1 pick which will wind up anywhere between 26-29 to Tampa Bay. So if the Rangers win tonight, they lose their #1 pick and if they lose they keep their #1 pick. Ranger fans are hoping to lose this years #1 pick for the shot of the Cup. I also want to give the Garden Faithful a shoutout for their passion for MSL and the Rangers at Game#6. Ranger fans can be hard to please (just ask Rick Nash), but can also be the BEST place to play on earth as long as the effort is there!

The rest of the Rangers picks for the draft this upcoming summer in Philadelphia are 3rd, 4th, 5th(traded ours away but have Florida's pick in this round which is 2nd), 6th, and traded away #7 for Dan Carcillo. The Rangers have already signed Ryan Haggerty, Mathew Bodie, and Chris McCarthy out of college as free agents who are already ahead of the learning curve for prospects.

So the Rangers are looking to close out the Penguins tonight while the Penguins will be looking not to have blown a 3-1 series lead. Momentum is clearly in favor of the Rangers and if they score first look for the Penguins to collapse under the pressure in front of their fans.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!

7 Down....... 9 To GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
