► RUMOR MILL
|
Thursday - December 5th
Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:
Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.
The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

THE KIng Lundqvist willed the Rangers to win!
|
|
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 8:55:55 AM - June 12, 2014
Henrik Lundqvist was just amazing in Game#4 with 40 saves and even had "puck luck" from all the snow in the crease that allows the Rangers to play another day .The snow was there from the Rangers goalie constantly moving around in the crease side to side as the Kings had the Rangers on their heels throughout the third period, but the Rangers held on with the Stanley Cup in the house and momentum is now on the Rangers side and doubt is now in Los Angeles' head. A great goalie can make a team doubt themselves and King Lundqvist did that last night.
The Rangers team have now brought their record in elinamtion games at home winning streak to 8 and hope they get a chance to extend that this season. In order to do that, they have to take it to the Kings on friday and bring the Kings back East for a Game#6. It won't be easy, but the 1st two games went into overtime and puck luck was what beat the Rangers. Puck Luck now seems to be on the Rangers side and they need to carry it forward by playing hard and making their own breaks.
The Rangers are making things happen with their speed and the cycle down low in the offensive zone. The problem is, for most of the game and the powerplays, they skate the puck into the offensive zone slowly and always lok for the points. On the powerplay, it really has to stop having Brad Richards on the point and running the offense through him! The Kings are overplaying it and STILL the Rangers are forcing it which has closed down any chance of a good opportunity from the point. Granted, the Rangers don't have anyone who has gottne the puck through from the point with any regularity, but if they attacked the Kings net from behind or from the sides, the points would have some room to operate at times. It is obvious that the Rangers need a faceoff winner as they lose so much time in the Kings zone trying to recapture the puck. The Rangers should actually teach the Rangers players on the faceoff to lose in a "controlled" way and play defense and get on the puck right from the start instead of thinking they have a chance of winning the faceoff and being two strides away from the puck every time. AV needs to fine tune these two main problems and the Rangers can make history!
Rick NAsh wasn't brought to New York to be a "checker" and to do the little things that a third and fourth liner does, but Ranger fans and the coaches have to realize that what he is right now. He made at least 2 great hits last night and actually tried to make a move with the puck towards the middle of the ice and towards the net. It is obvious that there is something going on with Rick Nash, whether it is an injury or fear of another concussion, we will only find out after this series. Brad Richards is a "solid" type player with great leadership qualitites but can no longer take over a game, so the Rangers need to use him to his talents. He was dropped to the 4th line and played well in the role he was used in , but he really needs to be taken off the point on the powerplay if not just for a change and for the other players to rely on him to make things happen and use their own talent to make things happen themselves. Sometimes it seems that the Rangers younger players defer to the "cagey old vets" instead of making things happen themselves!
ALL hands on deck Rangers!!! Puck Luck is now on the Rangers side and anything can happen! Let's make history!
13 DOWN.....3 TO GO!!! LET'S RANGERS!!!!!!
