RUMOR MILL

Wednesday - June 26th

Elliot Friedmman of Sportsnet, reports that the Avalanche weren't willing to include the 16th overall pick to the Rangers in exchange for Chris Kreider.

Wonder who else wasn't willing to include a first rounder for him. Part of the problem of course is his UFA status next year, and then the expansion draft after that.

Stars Played Like Stars in Game 6
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 1:36:35 PM - May 28, 2015

It is amazing how good the Rangers are when they play as a team and everyone is willing to go into the hard areas and pay the price for success. They can not afford to follow up a great offensive explosion of 7 goals in Game 6 with another disappearing act like game 5 or the Rangers will disappear from this years playoffs.

The Rangers most explosive line was the Derick Brassard line with wingers Rick Nash and J.T. Miller. That is a big strong line that has been under the Tampa Bay Lightning players skin all series long and paid the price by owning the middle of the ice and taking away the vision of Tampa goalie Bishop that actually had him pulled and sitting on the bench watching as the game wound down. The Keith Yandle trade seemed to be worth the price as he played a solid game defensively, moved the puck well, and used his speed to make a difference. The Rangers are best when they play on talent and stop trying to out think their opponents. The Rangers need to play like Games 4 and 6 and stay away from lazy play and fear like they did in Game 5. With the MSG crowd expected to easily be a lift as they always "bring it" in Game 7's, the Rangers just need to "play their Game". Easier said than done I would guess.

Mats Zuccarello was practicing with the team in a non-contact jersey on Thursday and left the ice right before the team started the line-rushes per Steve Zipay on Twitter, so it is expected that he will not be in the line-up for Game 7. If he was somehow able to play, who would come out of the line-up? What would the lines be like? Would he be put back on the line with Brasard and Nash like all year after they reached 13 points together including winger J.T. Miller? Zuccarello clearly makes the Rangers a better team, but at Game 7 and breaking up the best Rangers line as of late is a big risk. It would seem like the best move is to wait, hope the Rangers move on to the Finals with a win on Friday. and have one of the Rangers biggest offensive weapons healthy and fresh for the Cup Finals.

JUST PLAY RANGERS HOCKEY AND WE MOVE ON BOYS!!! LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!
