A contract with the last remaining RFA, Libor Hajek appears imminent according to Mollie Walker in the New York Post.

In some ways it's curious as to why the negotiations have taken this long, with Hajek not projected to be in the starting line-up at this point and perhaps more likely to be used as part of a future trade or to be used as depth in case of injury.

Kaapo Kakko 5/8
Sat out for preventative reasons in last game
Julien Gauthier 5/6
Left the game after seemingly twisting/spraining his knee on a hit along the boards
Artemi Panarin 5/4
Is expected to miss the rest of the season
Ryan Lindgren 5/10
Is feeling a lot better that he was, no mention of on-going concerns
Chris Kreider 5/10
Mentioned that he had back spasms that he could not shake the last two weeks of the season
Jacob Trouba 5/10
Feeling much better, and probably would have returned this week if the Rangers were still playing

Development Camp Roster Announced
Posted by Toby Ivey ≡ 2:32:44 PM - September 8, 2021

Last year's development camp never came to fruition, a victim of the COVID pandemic that saw the 2019-20 season suspended, and a draft held out in October.  Over a year later, and the normal fixture that occurs right after the NHL Draft has been moved out as a replacement for the Traverse City prospects tournament, and a prelude to the full camp that is set to begin in two weeks.

It's also worth noting, that only one European-based player will attend, that being 2019 draft pick Karl Henriksson, who is set to return to Sweden to play out the year in his home country.  The remaining 26 players are either North American, or were scheduled to play the season here.

Five players not under contract, or drafted by the Rangers will attend too, with four of them having seen some time with Hartford's short season last year.  Only Zach Berzolla, a defenseman who saw some time with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL last season, is outside the Rangers system.

Some players who made their debuts last year in New York will get some additional development support from the camp.  Forwards Morgan Barron and Justin Richards both made saw their first NHL action last season, as did defensemen Tarmo Reunane and Zac Jones.

There will also be plenty of eyes on Nils Lundkvist, Lauri Pajuniemi and Brennan Othmann as they each see their first Ranger camps, not to mention the likes of Jayden Grubbe, Ryder Korczak and Brody Lamb, all of whom were drafted over the Summer.

The 27 players are:

L Will Cuylle 6-3 204 Hartford (AHL) 2020
