RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

Tomorrow's Lineup
Posted by Daniel Akeson ≡ - September 20, 2007

This from over at Steve Zipay's blog On The Rangers Beat. Here is the line-up for tomorrow night.

Avery-Anisimov-Shanahan
Straka-Dubinsky-Callahan
Hollweg-Betts-Lessard
Byers-Smith-Jessiman

Defense:
Tyutin-Girardi
Strudwick-Sauer
Kasparaitis-Hutchinson

Goal: Valiquette, Montoya

Your first line is essentially out and Ranger fans won't get a chance to see Gomez or Drury just yet. The defense is also an interesting grouping as there is really only one pairing that is guaranteed to make the big club. However, Head Coach Tom Renney has put Fedor Tyutin with Dan Girardi, which we suggested here over the summer as a potential long-term combination. This may also lead to speculation that Malik and Rosival aren't going anywhere.

Saturday's lineup will be the following: (plus one forward line from Friday)

Dawes-Gomez-Jagr
Hossa-Drury-Prucha
Korpikoski-Pyatt-Orr

Defense:
Baranka-Mara
Malik-Sanguinetti
Staal-Rozsival
Pock-Liffiton

Goal: Lundqvist, Wiikman

No huge surprises here. It seems that Pock's stock has dropped considerably, especially since he is being paired with Liffiton. One final thing to watch is the Dawes and Hossa battle that is going on here. Who would you rather have on your first line? I like Dawes because of his scoring touch with Hossa on a lower line because of his size.
