RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

OTG Notebook: April 23

So it's going to be Rangers vs Penguins for the matchup in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and we'll likely have to hear endless gushing over the play of Sidney Crosby for the next week or two.

While there's no comments dismissing their opponents, like we heard from Sean Avery and Tom Renney last year with respect to the Sabres, there are high expectations for the team.

ESPN gives us a breakdown of the matchup, or you can read our own take on the series http://www.outsidethegarden.com/articles/story.asp?id=552' class='othersite'>here.

The Rangers' success this post season has been because of team chemistry according to the Journal News. Certainly the Rangers have focused on building a team that gets along with each other, and it appears to be paying off.

Sean Avery may be promoting his rebel persona on the ice, but the NHL will be looking to promote it off the ice with a new T-shirt to go on the market. The shirt simply reads "Avery Rule. 16".

Mark Messier admits taking the tiger by the tail when he made his guarantee back in 1994....their words, not mine.

The Hartford Wolf Pack's post season came to an end with a fourth straight loss. The Pack failed to hold on to a 2-1 lead, losing 3-2 in Game 5.
