RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

For A Day, Hockey Can Take A Back Seat
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 1:01:00 PM - September 11, 2009

With all the player movements of this summer, along with rumors of Heatley and others to N.Y; they should all take a back seat to this 8th anniversary of the September 11th attack on America that changed the United States forever. Let us all take a moment and remember those lost on this day.

Memories that I have of 9/11 are of my son driving to school and I told him to turn around and head home using the back roads as not to go over any bridges(in fear that they could also be endangered). I like most Americans watched in horror on TV and saw the 2nd plane actually hit the Tower. The feeling of outrage and anger that this would happen to our country still is with me today. That my family was safe, I was thankful.

My job afforded me the opportunity to not feel so helpless, as I volunteered in the Rescue and Recovery effort for 4 months, ending on January 17th,2002. The things that were seen will stay with all of us forever, but it was work that needed to be done. God Bless all the victims that perished that day and those that are sick and have perished since from illness' related to this horrific attack.

Sometimes sports can bring us all together and as a Rangers' fan I remember when Messier put on the Fire helmet of a fallen HERO. I also remeber when the President threw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium. Sports do help us lose ourselves and our worries during the game, but real life, which is family and friends, is what is really the most important at the end of the day.

There will be alot of times to dislike players, management, other teams fans, and even each other at times, but for TODAY, we should realize that we are ALL part of a BIGGER PICTURE.

Please share with any memories of this day. There were many Rangers fans who perished this day 8 years ago and many who are affected by it to this day. God Bless America.
