How would you rate the Rangers deadline?

Not bad
What were they thinking...

Previous Polls

Thursday - March 25th

With 18 days remaining until the NHL trade deadline, all is relatively quiet on the Rangers front.

Not unexpectedly, the Rangers are probably going to be minor players this time round, without much in the way of short term assets they would be looking to part with.

Clearly they would look at offers for those on short term or expiring contracts like Brendan Smith, Ryan Strome, Jack Johnson and perhaps the likes of Colin Blackwell.

There are no significant injuries to report

Evgeny Grachev scored two goals including the winner

Prospect Open With 5-4 Win
Posted by Toby Ivey ≡ 7:36:12 PM - September 11, 2010

The Rangers prospects got their Traverse City Tournament off to a winning start today, beating the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4 on the back of a goal by Evgeny Grachev with 6.1 seconds left in regulation. It was Grachev's second goal of the game and extended the Rangers to four straight wins at the competition going back to last year.

Teamed up with Derek Stepan and Ryan Bourque, the trio accounted for four of the five goals, with both Stepan and Bourque recording a goal and two assists. Christian Thomas also scored early in the second to level the game at 2-2, and was the only Ranger to register a point aside from the top trio.

Scott Stajcer started in goal, and can't have been happy with allowing two goals on only four shots in the first period, before rebounding somewhat to finish with twenty saves on twenty four shots faced.

For a blow by blow recap of the game, check out the log on the Rangers' official website or review the box score here.
