RUMOR MILL

Thursday - December 5th

Per Elliot Friedman of Sportsnet:

Prior to the December 1st deadline, the Oikers apparently tried again to move Jesse Pujljujarvi, and the Rangers were reportedly one of the teams interested.

The trade would have involved Lias Andersson going the other way, but ultimately they could work out a deal.

Dubinsky took it upon his own to set up the comeback in Pittsburgh

Now THAT is the Core Rangers Makin It Happen
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 11:14:38 PM - November 15, 2010

The Rangers are now on a three game winning streak, and the Rangers core players are the key. Dubinsky,Lundqvist,Callahan,Girardi,Anisimov,Avery,Gaborik, Staal and DelZotto are leading this years version of the Blueshirts in time and leadership. The Rangers have showed emotion and the team concept especially in the last two games.

In the Garden win vs. Edmonton, the Garden Faithful enjoyed "KIDS DAY". My youngest son was lucky enough to be picked to be in the Rangers runway for the HIGH FIVE line as the players came out for practice giving the kids five on their way to the ice. Great job RANGERS!! Gaborik's hatrick was overlooked because of the two Boogard fights and the mini brawl that started with the 1 punch K.O. by Avery of Smid that sent the Oilers crazy. I haven't heard the Garden rocking like that for years. Even Frolov finally appeared and added in two goals.

That set up the Rangers vs. the Pens on the back to back nights. King Henrik was standing on his head making save after save holding onto a 1-0 lead. The Pens scored twice late in the game within a minute to take a 2-1 lead for the Pens. King Henrik lost his cool and received a 2 minute unsportsmanlike penalty that left the Rangers down a man for the rest of the game. With Giradi coming back into the game after suffering a bad cut requiring stitches on the bridge of his nose area, the Rangers went for it to try and tie the game. Dubinsky won many key faceoffs in the 3rd period. Playing shorthaned, Dubinsky and Stall went in on a two on three with Dubinsky curling away from the goal taking the defenseman and CINDY Crosby away from the goal area. Staal, seeing the area open up, jumped into the area and received the perfect pass from Dubi which allowed him to roof a goal to tie the score at 2-2 sending the game into overtime. Once overtime started, Henrik did his job while Dubinsky and Callahan rushed in on a two on one leading to a highlight reel pass from Dubinsky to Callahan for the WIN and the Gordie Howe hatrick(a Goal, an ASSIST, and a FIGHT-he won the fight against the Pens Comrie)!! The Rangers core players are fun and exciting to watch while watching them all become leaders and game breakers.

The Rangers will celebrate HERITAGE NIGHT thier next game on wed. 11/17 at The Garden with those attending receiving posters. It will be the first time the Rangers will wear their new jersey. The best touch on the Heritage jersey is the retired numbers stitched on the inside of the jersey so that every time a player pulls on his jersey, he will remember of all the great players and teams who played for the Rangers before him.
