RUMOR MILL

Wednesday - June 26th

Elliot Friedmman of Sportsnet, reports that the Avalanche weren't willing to include the 16th overall pick to the Rangers in exchange for Chris Kreider.

Wonder who else wasn't willing to include a first rounder for him. Part of the problem of course is his UFA status next year, and then the expansion draft after that.

Rangers Core Well Experienced
Posted by Michael M. Ramos ≡ 6:00:58 PM - March 20, 2011

The Rangers "PACK LINE", King Henrik, Gaborik,Girardi, and many others lead the Rangers past the cheapshot Penguins yet again this season with a 5-2 victory Saturday afternoon. So Mario, since you said when Cindy Crosby got hurt that maybe it was time to leave the NHL if they don't stop headshots; it IS time you for you leave because you stand by and just watch one your own players MEANINGFULLY try to seperate a player from only his helmet and nothing else. The refs actually made the correct call and gave repeat offender Matt Cooke a 5 minute major and game misconduct for his most recent cheapshot to Rangers rookie Ryan McDonagh. Come on Mario, don't be a hypocrite, come out and bitch about this hit to the head or do better and sit your repeat offender for the rest of the year. How the hell does Avery almost get kicked out of hockey for saying "sloppy seconds" while Matt Cooke gets minimal disciplinary for hits to the head on Richards and Savard along with todays headhunt on McDonagh(must be at least 10 games).

The Rangers played a great game against the Penguins while missing Marc Staal. King Henrik added to his NHL record 30+ wins starting an NHL career for his 6th season in a row. The Rangers have shown that anytime "THE KING" is between the pipes, the Rangers have a great chance to win. Gilroy did a solid job in his return to the lineup playing with Bryan McCabe. Eminger stepped up and played 24+ minutes in playing mainly with Girardi. The McDonagh and Sauer combination did it's normal unnoticed great defensive job. Brandon Dubinsky,Ryan Callahan, Derek Stepan,Artem Anisimov, and Marion Gaborik each scored. The Rangers are playing the press forward Coach Tort's system well as of late. The battle is still on for the playoffs, but the Rangers seem to be hitting their stride at the right time!!

*****************************UPDATE********************************************

Seems like Mario can stay in the league atthis time. The Penguins organization has supported the NHL league offices suspension of repeat offender Matt Cooke. The NHL has suspended him for 10 games(rest of the regular season) and the 1st round of the playoffs.
