Currently watching the Oz show. Pretty nasty stuff. If you haven't watched it, I can truly recommend after watching just 2 seasons. It reveals the life in prison with a really naturalistic edge. Also shows how much screwed up the people in this sort of prison are. The behavior patterns are simply outta your regular world.

Got my eyes on Falling Skies and Game of Thrones.

I couldn't sit through an episode of Game of Thrones. Maybe I should try again cause I've heard good things.

MJ how far along did you get into SoA? I think it took me an episode or 2 but by 4 or 5 I was hooked.

I watched all of season one of Anarchy.

Oz is one of the all-time great shows...a lot of people in it became stars.

Haven't gotten past the second episode of Falling Skies...it reminds me of "V" and I couldn't stand any version of that show.

I had a hard time getting through the first episode of Thrones. Once I did, I was hooked.

I was the same with game of thrones. Luck was similar. I wasn't impressed after one episode, by each episode it got more interesting. A few weeks behind now, but seemed to be getting pretty good. These episodes I need catch up on are the make/break point for me

BTW: Just wanted to say what a great thread this is....I had a computer mishap and lost all of my video files and yesterday I sat and read through this thread from the beginning and got a good idea of what I needed to get again.
I never come to the junk yard anymore. Haven't had near as much time on my hands as I used to, but I definitely need to get more active on this thread.

Guess we don't need to worry about Luck as it has been cancelled due to the 3rd death of a horse during production

Watched a few lately...

Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close -- liked it, will be close to NYers' hearts.

Machine Gun Preacher -- very good although the main character's path twist is a bit too quick imo.

The Way -- got me thinking I might take the pilgrimage myself. Pretty good acting. The story is also pretty good.

The Divide -- very disappointing after a promising half. Went a little too far. Liked the idea, not the realization.

The Intouchables -- I really liked this one. Might've gone a bit deeper into the servant's life and background.

Lately, I've been looking for movies with some deeper meaning. With the exception of Divide, these provided what I sought.

And I also finished watching The Event. Excellent thing. A bit too similar to Lost...but I didn't watch Lost for more than 2 seasons so it's not much of an issue.

Too bad they're probably not shooting another season.

Is anyone else getting bored of Game of Thrones? Nothing has really been happening, although I'm sure the next 2 episodes will be action packed.

Watched several movies lately. Would like to know what you guys think...

2 Coelhos -- a Brazillian flick trying to be cool, fun, action and stuff. Not really successfully, though. I had a hard time following the plot because at times, it really didn't make any sense.

21 Jump Street -- just purely for "old-times sake" as I used to watch the show as a kid. Was one of the first over here I watched. Typical and stereotypical attemp at a high-school action comedy coming up way too short. B grade movie. Gave me few laughs, though.

Act of Valor -- modern warfare. The script kept giving me electric shocks from time to time. Some parts seemed really redundant or not fitting at all. But...overall...not a complete waste of time. You at least get to enjoy a solid action that is not blown completely out of proportion.

Goon -- biggest disappointment, hockey movie. They pre-face the movie with a line that it is based on a true story. Therefore, I expected something serious. If this was supposed to be a comedy, I really hated it. If not, the people producing the movie are complete tools.

Haywire -- double-crossing a contracted assassin is not something you do. Solid movie to kill your time and not be bored to death. AND...I find Gina Carano incredibly hot.

John Carter -- there's life on Mars you know. I surprisingly enjoyed it for all of its insanity.

So...overall, nothing really stands out. I have a hard time finding a quality movie these days. Any ideas?

I also enjoyed John Carter -- didn't expect much because it was a Disney production.

Act of Valor -- watched this just for the action and was not disappointed....again, didn't expect much of a plot

Chronicle -- teen angst and super powers are never a good mix for a good flick but I think this one was the exception. Using the Blair Witch/hand-held camera style doesn't work most time, but here it did. Most of the effects were very good.

Therein lies the problem -- don't think this show was meant to be an "action packed" series. Have watched a few more episodes and have found it just as intriguing as the first series.

I happened to download the ebooks because I had planned on taking them on my trip (never got the tablet I wanted). From what I'm told, the series follows the books exactly, so now I have to find them and read them because I honestly can't wait.

This is 40 - Terrible.
Django - I like Tarantino flicks. Always have. If your easily offended.... Well, read up before you watch. Bloody. Very Bloody.

Um... Damn what else have I seen lately.

Alex Cross - has pretty good action to it. Not the greatest movie ever made but it won't bore you on an afternoon watch.

I'd have to review my list on the server at home to see what else I've seen lately but that's the gist off the top of my head.

Alex Cross was a solid surprise. I looked up the IMDB rating and it wasn't very good. But then I watched it and agree with Zero, not really a bad way to spend 90 minutes or so.

How about Dredd, The Dark Knight Rises, HALO etc...anyone saw these "big" movies?

Oh The Dark knight Rises as FANTASTIC. I have a few buddies who didn't like this or that (small problems from Fan Boys) however the movie was great.

I saw it in theaters than the very next day downloaded (wasn't the greatest copy but very watchable) to see it again. Dredd I heard terrible things about.
