How can anything else be more disgusting, disappointing, heart breaking than what happened at Penn State.

Bottomline: Sandusky is an animal of the worse kind... he used his clout, his rank at Penn State to trap young boys into horrible, nightmarish abuse... He should burn in hell forever.

But the cover up, by JoePa, Mike.. the staff, the trustees, campus police... all to save the Brand... allowed this animal to commit more rapes for 7-8 years. If you have the stomach read the Gran Jury report, it will make you sick.

Then a handful of fans rioted because JoePa was fired... How can this school survive?

Whole thing is disgusting. Putting the reputation of the football program over preventing young kids from being violated. How can these people live with themselves?

I was shocked when I was reading his book. It was an eye-opener for me. I do think today that this problem happens on much larger scale than I ever imagined.

Sandusky will rot in jail, which is the least of what he really deserves, but the sad story behind all of this is the cover up. IMO, what's important here is what comes out of the impending Tim Curley and Gary Schultz trial. Both have been charged with perjury and failing to alert authorities to one act of sexual abuse by Sandusky. A trial date has not been set.

A grand jury report made public in November found that Curley and Schultz, who oversaw the campus police, lied about their response to a 2002 report from Mike McQueary, then a graduate assistant for the football team. McQueary testified to he told Curley and Schultz he witnessed what he believed to be Sandusky having anal sex with a boy in a shower on campus.

NBC reported last week that newly obtained evidence includes emails showing Curley, Schultz and former Penn State President Graham Spanier discussing how to handle the McQueary report. Spanier and Schultz, according to NBC, agreed that it would be "humane" to not report Sandusky to social services agencies.

Sad, because it seems like justice has yet to be fully served.

What Graham James did to young Canadian hockey players was as bad, if not worse than what Sandusky did, but the Canadian justice system gives child molesters a slap on the wrist. Sandusky will probably get life. All James got was 2 years. 2 freakin years and this asshole is out on the street, free to molest boys again. I can only hope someone decides to unleash their own justice on James.

If rumors are correct, prisoners have no love for rapists and child abusers. Unless they put him in maximum security or solitary for his entire sentence, I think we'll be reading his obituary soon.

Of course Sandusky got what he deserved and no punishment is enough. But now attention will be given to anyone who covered this up

He has to get protective custody........so he will spend 23 hours a day in his cozy 6 X 8 cell....for the rest of his life.

I'm still curious as to who knew, what they knew, when they knew it, and what they did to stop it. It's one thing to suspect it....it's another to know the truth and do nothig about it.

Well the report came out - Paterno and the others covered up this situation for many years. They chose the reputation of the University over horrible things being done to young boys. All legal punishments should be explored.

Paterno will now be remembered as a child molester enabler rather than a football coach.

Ask the Catholic Church.

Sandusky, and "men" of his kind are monsters, but the lesson needs to be learned by the ones who cover up their acts. It is one thing to be off in the head, and commit the acts. It is another to not do anything about it. Joe could have and should have been a hero to the little kids. It IS a shame that his name got tarnished before his death. It's a shame that the churches name gets tarnished because of church sex abuse scandals.... But neither institutions that these men are part of will be effected. I can only be hopeful that both institutions are brought to justice, however. Penn State will get over this soon. The church?.... well I'm not so sure about the church.

The NCAA will fine Penn State at least $30 million and perhaps as much as $60 million for its involvement in the Jerry Sandusky scandal, industry sources told CBSSports.com's Brett McMurphy.

The record fine will go toward an endowment for children's causes, sources said.

"This is a fine like no fine before," an industry source told CBSSports.com.

CBSSports.com's Dennis Dodd has reported Penn State will face "significant penalties that could severely damage the football program's ability to compete" when the NCAA announces sanctions against the football program at a 9 a.m. news conference Monday.

The NCAA has hit Penn State with a $60 million sanction, a four-year football postseason ban and a vacation of all wins dating to 1998, the organization announced Monday morning in a news release.

The career record of former head football coach Joe Paterno will reflect these vacated records, the statement continued.

Penn State must also reduce 10 initial and 20 total scholarships each year for a four-year period, the release said.
