Your Tanner Glass called up because the team has the toughness of a marshmallow and needs some one with a set. You look and see J.T. Miller, Chris Kreider and Kevin Klein might be the only guys in the lineup to back you up. You know already this will not be good.

It's completely pointless to have any sort of toughness on the team when the coach not only doesn't know how to use it, he punishes players for playing with an edge.

The team is build for the regular season and will fold when the games really matter. Lack of team toughness or edge or grit or whatever you'll call it is a big part of that.

Agreed 100%

we are looking at a first round exit again. So let's add Tanner Glass and sit a real player so glass can run around taking himself out of plays to lay bodies down. The only way toughness works is if a whole team buys in, not adding one guy. Especially not an AHLer

Watch... AV will push for another 2/3 year deal for Tanner this offseason. He's gotta have some blackmail on AV, I just don't understand why they couldn't give up a 5th or 6th rounder at the DL for an NHL version of Glass, who has been an AHL level player for AT LEAST the last 2 years

It shows this coach has no grasp of his teams shortfalls, created by him. And a huge case of to little to late.

From the NYR official Twitter Page:

Tanner Glass & Kampfer recalled as of 10:07 AM today

The Habs grab the players that AV and Gorton should have grabbed at the deadline, for dirt cheap too. The Habs come into MSG and shove the Rangers around, and basically bully Miller at the end of the game. And the answer to the problem according to AV and Gorton is ........... Tanner Glass.

Get the **** outta here with this coach and his bull**** philosophy. He inherited a team forged by Torts, fell short in his first season in the Finals (nothing new for AV) and the team has deteriorated since. All while Gorton has plucked some very talented players without the benefit of a first round pick (see, Hayes, Vesey, Grabner).

It will pain me greatly to see the Rangers get humiliated in the first round by the Habs. But if it means the end of AV here, I'll deal with it. The Rangers are young and can go far with a coach who knows what to do to get balance on this team. And Henrik hopefully has one more run left in him, if he doesn't run over too much while playing for AV's Fancy Dandy's this season.

Cally was everything you could ask for come playoff time....We decided to give lifetime contracts to Staal and Giradi instead...Cally and Hagelin were playoff warriors....and we gave them and some #1's away for free.

Any GM that couldn't recognize some grit was needed before and even after the Washington game and didn't go out and address it on deadline day, has to be questioned. And how much of that was attributable to Coach chirping how happy he was with the team prior to the deadline.

Very true. According to Brooks of the NYPost and some others, AV has been given significant input into personnel decisions. This is HIS team, and he will fall short once again.

His teams do great from October to January, when the games are more free skating and less physical. Piles up so many wins. But then in March things change, teams play more physical, they defend their net more physically, and his teams swoon. 600+ regular season wins. His playoff record? 62 - 65. His teams have finished in first place in the regular season 7 times. Those first place teams were eliminated in the first or second round 5 times. Overall, his teams made the playoffs 10 times, and have been eliminated in the first or second round of the playoffs 7 times. He sucks when it gets gritty and meaningful.

But not to worry. When Jesper gets better Glass will be sent back down.

Lol at Fast, and probably demote Glass right before a series with Montreal. We are doomed with the French Canadian version of howdy doody Tom Renney hockey. But hey ev en Renney had Ryan Hollweg.

I wanted them to give Duninsky the C. Instead they gave it to Callahan, and Dubi was gone....

Dubinsky instead of Stepan would make a world of difference right now

Oooooh.... So they're just going to be practicing with the team as extras. They won't play unless someone gets injured, and since they're going on a road trip, it's pretty smart to have them.

Maybe Glass plays on the 4th line against a physical team.... but I doubt it

Yep totally I hated the Nash trade when it was made....I hate giving up home grown talent...Cally had a hard time with injuries but I loved his tenacity...Cally and Duby in the 2014 Finals would of made a difference...Now we got rid of all these guys and #1 draft picks etc... for nothing

When Glass finds his way in the lineup, it's a organization waving the white flag and stating the season is over. Time to look at the draft with the almost no f'n picks we have yet again.

I always thought Dubinsky was an awesome player and even had a little bit of Messier in him as far as a leader and I thought he was a cool dude too, until I met him that is.... Then I realized what huge D I C K he is .....just my opinion of course.

I really wanted Ott at the deadline....... bringing back Glass, just reinforces the ineptitude of this organization, just like trading for Smith ((2nd/3rd).

Zibinijad was a completely different player before he got hurt. I am familiar with his type of injury and was surprised he came back that quickly. Maybe he shouldn't have. I'm going to reserve judgement on him for now - still think it was the right move straight up for Brassard.

Zib wasn't traded for Brass straight up, we got a 2nd round pick in 2018, which we traded away for Smith.

Seems like the only general news source that covers the Rangers daily has also given up on the Rangers. As of 9:53am, going to their NY Rangers page it says no articles found!. http://nypost.com/tag/new-york-rangers/
