I love the old photos from the 40's and 50's where all the men in the stadiums were wearing suits, ties, and hats!!

Yup... and all the fog in the air was 100% of the fans smoking Cigarettes, including the players.

That is the best....Im at least thankful I got to see the blue seats experience with my own eyes before they ruined it

Rangers are 5 - 1 when Jesper Fast is not in the lineup. Just saying.

In the 70's 80's even 90's when a team was leading by 4 goals the final minutes would last an hour with all the fights.

Not always, but if it was a rivalry game, then yes. Ahhhhhh, the good ol' days.

Lol we all suffer being a NYR loyalist

Wouldn't have it any other!!! I remember in the late 70's the Rangers had their Alumni dinners at the Cordon Blue on Jamaica Ave in Richmond Hill Queens... We would stand outside and watch the Limos pull up.. Pat Hickey, Duguay, JD, etc.. would stand outside talking to us and signing autographs.. But I'll never forget, when Fred Shero's Limo pulled up he took one step out of the limo and a bottle of Jacks feel on the street.

It was actually Woodhaven and I was there for a few of them too.

That's a LOT of empty seats, & most of those not empty were Rangers fans. Sad. That team can't be doing well financially, they are in trouble, came into the league in the 90s & still no fans, can't fill the building. Yeah, let's expand more teams?!?

Thanks for dredging up all the hated memories of Parise and Morrow. Although the last eternity of Pileander futility has helped heal scars.

"Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it"....or something like that. We need to remind the youngsters of how it used to be....

Then again....a 4 game sweep....outscoring them 22-3 was pretty cool revenge.

Absolutely! ...A merciless beating 6-0 6-0 5-1 5-2 1990 was nice too ...Randy Wood penalty shot...Garden was still deafening those days

Lundqvist couldn't even get a shut out.... he's washed up. This team is going no where fast. 5 goals... not one on the power play. What a joke this team is.

Awesome ! Good Ol' boys! You are right...I wouldnt have it any other way either

The first game I ever went to was in 75 with my grandfather, he made me wear a tie... he wore his best suit... and for the whole game I had to listen to him bitch and complain about all the hippies dressed in jeans and long hair. He was going to the games in the 40's when everybody wore a suit and tie to the games.

Back in the 40s, I was a baseball fan; but read about the Rangers in the Daily News and the Mirror (it was 3 cents back then). The Rangers were awful; usually out of the playoff hunt by Thanksgiving. Baseball was fun to watch at the Polo Grounds; especially in RF. You'd talk to the players and they'd answer back.
