A fresh Lundqvist for the playoffs is not a bad thing. Get well soon.

This is unfortunate. He was just getting back to his old self. Playing at the level we expect.

Who knows in what kind of shape he'll be after the injury.

Not Good, but like others mentioned will get some rest before the playoffs.

Playoffs start April 12....I dont buy Henrik needing rest bs during the Season...This point in the Season he needs to play every night to get his mojo going

I'm sure everyone will disagree with me, but I feel Raanta has been the better goalie this season. I have no problems with him starting in the playoffs.

Aging trend or overwork?

Injuries happen

Buchnevich is the youngest, and how long was he out with back spasms? Zibanejad?

McDonagh was the direct cause of two of these so I don't see how you can really attribute those to aging, or overwork. Lundqvist took a puck to the throat in the first one, and McDonagh ran into him on the second one. Also the first one was in early February not late March.

He's not going to last forever but these seem like fairly routine injuries if you have a defense that collapses as often as the Rangers do. I think it is also a case of being extra cautious going into the playoffs.

Like this hip injury; he injured it at some point in the first period in the FLA game, and finished out the game. Could he play through it, if we were in a tight playoff race? Probably. But what's the point when you have a more than capable backup and are comfortably in the playoffs? You rest the guy you know is going to be your starter. Coincidentally, he's scheduled to be back 5 or 6 games before the playoffs.
