They lost a game on the 2nd night of a back to back, in Hank's first game in a while, against a team that is red hot right now, and has a ton to play for when we don't...SHUT IT DOWN.

What a ridiculous thread...LOL. You guys should all get together for a crying pity party. Crazy stuff...

What a sad board. If you don't rip and knock everything you will get ripped in here. What a sad pathetic existence this board must be. I mean I'm getting knocked because I came on here and wrote guys lighten up, it isn't all bad. 5th in the NHL and going to the playoffs again in the right bracket. Sure we may lose round 1 to the Habs, but let's save the all negative all the time talk until it actually happens.

For that I am ripped. Look in the mirror guys...LOL.

Only one team in 30 wins. We're all die-hands here, waiting a long time, watching a lot of mistakes being made by a team that's had the resources to better the 30-1 odds, so therefore, we bitch. If you don't like it, there are plenty of homers at HF. You'll fit right in.

And that's where you cross the line Eddie. I don't think saying stop complaining post after post after post and thread after thread after thread is being a homer.

As I mentioned, no doubt the team has flaws. Clearly the team can lose round 1 to Montreal. We are not the best team, we are the next level down from the top teams, somewhere in the 5-6 range I believe.

So this isn't about being a homer, this is about a board that rips into someone who says guys chill a little, enjoy the ride, and you will have MONTHS to complain if we lose early again. In another thread someone said Rob has a friend now. Don't know who Rob is, but I assume he is one positive/not always negative poster on this board. That is SO SAD that there is one guy who stands out so much from a sea of negativity that he now has a friend finally.

Sorry, but that is crazy and has nothing to do with me being a homer at all. I am realistic, and I just don't complain non-stop like this board appears to do.

I listed about 5 things chuckle head...funny how you focus on 1...LOL. Tells me all I need to know really. I am not going to jump off a bridge when we lose at a hot team in a game that doesn't mean much to us, and means a ton to them.

No, he's right. The sky is always falling here. Every time they lose a game, AV needs to be fired, and Lundqvist needs to be traded.

This is a good team.... and anyone who tries to say that here is a dickhead or at very least, an optimist

Rob I haven't seen much jumping on other posters because they say it's a good team. Posters are not going to agree on everything. I've seen posters post, good and bad on here. It's not all negative like Ripped thinks it is. Posters have a right to post whatever they want. There's no rules here, even if Ripped thinks nobody should say anything negative til after the season. How stupid is that.
He's more negative about this board than anyone in here is about the Rangers.

I'll add my 2 cents into this... longtime poster here, (almost 15 years), so i've been through a lot of ups and downs on this board alone.

I watch almost every game, at worst it's Rangers in 60, at best I sit down to watch it live. This is in addition to a lot of amateur and minor hockey that i take in as much as possible.

I rarely post during the game on the game threads because i'm usually either on delay or i have to dvr it. When I do comment in a game thread, it's generally negative, because i'm here to rant a bit. My expectation is the team has the talent and resources to put in a good effort every night, and when they do, I don't really come here to cheerlead.

Even when they lose, sometimes that's the way it goes. Like rob posted above, Anaheim is a good team. I didn't really have this expectation of beating them 5-2. They hung in there for a while, but eventually succumbed. One team has to. I was satisfied, but not thrilled with the effort. There were mistakes made, but there always are. So I didn't come here to bitch about the game because there wasn't a whole lot to bitch about. Similarly when they win, I usually don't post unless they played a terrible game and won in spite of it (thanks Hank!). Mandar likes these posts the best!

I definitely come here to vent though, when they play poorly against a subpar opponent. Losing to the Devils was terrible. Follow that up with a loss to the Islanders. That's 4 points they gave away to two non-playoff teams. It's making me mad just thinking about it. It's less about the points, because at this point the points don't really matter, I'm more upset because it indicates they have done little to nothing to fix the problems that have plagued them all year(s) - consistency, backchecking, positional play, primarily. The team we saw vs the Devils and Islanders is the team that's going to the playoffs this year, not the team that's beaten the Pens and Caps this year.

So my posts probably skew "negative" in your view but that's due only to self selecting what I post and when, and what I write about. If you hang around here long enough you'll notice I write about and follow the prospects more than anyone else here. That's me, clinging to the hope that Day or Shesterkin or some other wunderkind will lead us to glory.

That's all fair concust. I respect that. I also think your comment about the 3 points they lost against the Isles and Devs not mattering is 100% true. Those points didn't matter at all to our situation. We were 4th in the Met, and will finish 4th in the Met/as the top WC, and that's the perfect place to be.

We also know the Isles and Devs play every Ranger game like game 7 of the SCF. If those teams played the way they do against the Rangers every game, they'd be easy playoff teams, especially the Isles.

Bigger picture, I agree man. To me the D zone breakdowns and lack of structure in their own zone is alarming, and honestly not something I expect to change this season. It has been this way for 2 years now, so it isn't changing in 3 weeks. They leave the crease and the weak side WIDE OPEN so often it pains me. They are better this year than last year, but still very sub par I believe. It is a big issue, one that will cost them in the playoffs, just not sure if it is round 1 or 2 or 3 if they get out of the Atlantic. That's where I get on AV and his staff, because it happens way too often for me to not think man AV and the coaches should be pounding this in over and over and over again. Frustrates me big time.

The thing that caught my eye in my limited time on this board is the AV thread that was post after post after post knocking everything. There is no balance in here from what I can see. There is no one saying hey we have issues yes, but are still a real good team that is top 6 or so in the NHL. Let's see how it plays out in the playoffs, while understanding there are flaws here. That was my point. I get what you are saying, and that makes sense to me, but man is there any balance here saying hey let's chill it isn't all bad. I don't see that outside of maybe a person or two. And that's okay, people can write what they want to write, but don't go off on someone who says this board is over the top crazy negative, it is. That's honest.

But I'll say just one thing that is true for any message board:
Just discuss the posters' opinions and kindly shut the **** up about posters themselves.

"I'm more upset because it indicates they have done little to nothing to fix the problems that have plagued them all year(s) - consistency, backchecking, positional play, primarily. "

And you want to know the main reason these items haven't been addressed? Because the Gum Chewing Bot won't leave any line together long enough to gain even a modicum of chemistry (or will consistently break them up if they do) -- so there goes your consistency and positional play (which comes from knowing what your line mates' tendencies which, by the way, usually comes from playing with them for more than 2 periods every 4th game).

Prime example -- tonight's lineup.

AV SUCKS!!
