I really think game 3 is going to tell you a lot of the story on the direction of this series. Not saying the winner of game 3 wins the series for sure, but I do think the winner of game 3 will be in a real good spot.

If we win we're up 2-1, got some of the home ice monkey off our backs, and could have been up 3-0 (which bodes well for us finishing the series off).

If they win they're up 2-1, keep us lost at home (remember it is not just in the regular season but in the playoffs as well that we have sucked at home), and they would have a great comeback in game 2 and then continued the momentum by winning game 3 on the road (which bodes well for them finishing the series off).

I do think it is that big of a game, even if it isn't a game that the winner will win the series for sure. I believe you'll have the story of this series right in front of you pretty clearly after game 3.

For me personally, it will be hard to see us winning the series if they lose game 3 after the way they had to be crushed emotionally losing game 2. That's my take at least.

No Ive been on Zib all season....He has been invisible...We are not talking about the Sens...Brass was playoff noticeable/clutch with us...Zib has been MIa all season...Its even in one of the papers today.
NYR needs to forget last night...Its over. We can beat these guys. They absolutely have to win Tomorrow nite...and AV needs to not have 18 and 22 out there in the last minute protectiing a 1 goal lead

Again...how did Brass play in games 5 and 7 against TB?

Zib had 14 goals and 37 points in 56 games.
Brass had 14 goals and 39 points in 81 games.

Who had the better season?

You can have your opinion, but it is simply not based in fact when comparing him to Brass. Now YES Brass had many big playoff moments here, but I am not ready to say after 2 games that Zib will not also.

And I expect more from Zib moving forward. But I am not ready to say we lost a trade when Zib had a better season than Brass, and we have played all of 2 playoff games thus far. I will also add Zib had a better season than Brass despite a major injury that cost him months in the middle of his first season with a new team.

I'll say again, give me the guy who is 5 + years younger when choosing between 2 good solid players. And I was a big Brass fan and I say that.

Fast forward through a bunch of playoff games and Zib is still struggling then I may feel differently, but not after 2 games.

Staal, Holden, Hayes, and Kreider have been the worst Ranger players through 2 games. To me Holden has been in a class by himself though. He better be scratched tomorrow night in favor of Klein.

As for the other 3 they need to step up their play. All there is to it. Maybe being back with Klein will help Staal. We'll see.

Why do you think Ottawa was willing to give up on a 23 yr old 1st round pick? Brass did the same as the other 17 skaters in G5 and G7

Again...just stop. Zib is 5 + years younger and he is already a very comparable player to Brass. The regular season this year was no comparison. I want to see more than 2 playoff games before I write off Zib as a guy who cannot get it done...at just 24 mind you. He is way ahead of where Brass was at 24.

Again...some of you "fans" are ridiculous.

We're not "ridiculous". We just have opinions and points of view that you disagree with. Why the need to attack the person rather than simply debate the opinion? Some of us here strongly disagree with each other, have for years, but rarely get to the point where we're calling each other "ridiculous" or questioning what kind of "fan" the other is.

It is non-stop in here. Knock after knock. I just would love to see some balance. It is ridiculous that this team overachieved to get 100 + points again, sits 1-1 in their playoff series going home, and it is knock after knock.

Sorry...but that is kind of ridiculous. Doesn't mean you aren't entitled to your opinions, you very much are, but it is ridiculous that the opinions in here are knock after knock.

And debate...that is funny. My 3rd day here I was called 100 names. Today Rr called me about 15 names in 3 posts. Yes...let's debate. Again the pattern is clear in here. I am not part of the group that knocks everything and thinks AV sucks, therefore I am an outsider that deserves to be slammed non-stop. That's cool, but realize what it is.

Knock knock? Looks like balance to me.

Obviously, you see the glass as half full. I think 102 points is an underachievement.

Knock knock? AV Sucks! Just my opinion.

Brassard came to this team as a 24 year old, and what I remember was a player that was light years better than this 24 year old Zibanejad. Brassard led the team in playoff scoring in 3 of the last 4 seasons. In those 4 playoff seasons, he totaled 44 points. Compare that to Stepan's 34 or Nash's 33.

I've seen enough of Zibanejad in 5 full NHL seasons to not want to protect him in the expansion draft over players like Grabner, Fast, or Lindberg. It would be addition by subtraction.

That is fair. Way ahead was an overstatement. I should have said comparable. His season this year was better than Brass' season.

He is also a R shot, which we needed. We saved money this year, which we needed and helped us afford Vesey. And on a team that has dealt 1st round picks the past couple of seasons adding 5 + years of age is a plus as well.

My main point still stands, no doubt Brass was a very good playoff performer for us, but I am not ready to say after 2 NYR playoff games that Zib cannot be also. Maybe he won't be, I don't know, but I won't say he is a failure after 2 playoff games.

I will add, he needs to step up his game and he needs to improve in his own zone. That is very fair.

Why do you think Ottawa was willing to give up on a 23 yr old 1st round pick? Brass did the same as the other 17 skaters in G5 and G7

Silly statement....just because they traded him doesn't mean they "were wiling to give up on a 23 year old 1st round pick". You have to give to get.....not every deal is because someone has to give up on a player
