Smallish but plays with a lot of sandpaper. Takes stupid penalties.

Hoping this is a a favor to Farnham so he can hopefully land somewhere else. Or, to have a tough guy in the lineup for preseason games in case the other team has a fringe guy trying to make his club with his fists.

Here's what Montreal had to say after they signed him to a one year deal last year.

Or maybe it's just a message from management.

THIS is optimistic wishful thinking! I'll admit it this time!....

But maybe Gorton and AV and everyone involved in building this team will use Farnham as an example of how we want everyone to play. Kreider, Hayes, Miller, Vesey, Nash, Zibanejad.... everybody!... add some of this to your game.

Farnham will play a preseason game, and he will try to make some noise in it to earn a contract.... I don't know that he earns a spot, but maybe?

I mean he just has to out play Puempel until Fast returns....

Regardless, it would be fantastic if this guy rubbed off just a little on our passive players. They need to be reminded this is a contact sport....

So Glass didn't remind them for the last 3 years but this guy will? Come on.

Glass was a pansy up until last season, and one could argue he rubbed off a little.

Chewbacca didn't sign Farnham... Gorton did. Whether AV wants his players to play more physical, and aggitate, it seems Gorton saw Farnham as a type of guy worth grabbing....

So, why? What does he have to add to this team? If they see his style of play as desirable, then it seems logical that they wish the guys on the current roster played with more of an edge.

That's my take on it, anyway. He seems like Sean Avery

Agree. Probably a guy for Hartford. It's not like that team couldn't use some energy. It would be huge for the organization if Kovacs takes a big step up this season. He much like Andersson brings a motor and tenacity that the team needs much more off. Obviously, like many WolfPack players his year was a disaster. Hoping he can end up about 15 G, 21 A this season. I see him as a perfect 4th line guy who eventually might be able to work his way to being a third line player. So far he's shown no ability to play against men. However, you never can tell if the light will come on with these guys. Players like him with a relentless motor stand a better chance of that happening.

You can call Glass a lot of things but pansy isn't one of them.

One thing Glass can do is fight well. He has a good track record of sticking up for his teammates, and banging his entire term in NY. Many on here bash him, he's a honest player, and another in a long line of misused and overused by double mint. It's not his fault. On a fourth line banging and crashing and deployed when other teams have goofs running around he's a solid player. When a coach starts playing him on the PK and final minutes of games, then the coach needs a slap.

I can't believe you're going to make me defend Glass. Ok. I won't. You just have memory issues. Saying Derek Dorsett didn't do anything and got beat up in literally every fight as a Ranger I get it. But Glass? Really? Sigh.

There's a reason you won't defend him... the guy sucked. He wasn't some physical force. He was willing to drop the gloves, and able to win a fight once in a while.... great....

I'm talking about hitting guys! Being an aggitator! Finishing every check....

Glass did all of that for us a little bit last year, and I say it DID rub off on the rest of the team.... a little....

But Glass, even last year wasn't a physical force. An aggitator....
Maybe he, moreso than anyone else on this passive team... but that's not saying much.

As far as aggitators go, Glass is a pansy.

How much of that is a reflection of the coach.Name me one player who's physical game increased under Chewie. The only reason Smith may not lose his aggressiveness this year,is that barring some major lineup change, will be the only player capable of defending his fellow players and not being embarassed.

He didn't play last year until the playoffs. I won't defend the player, he shouldn't have been on the team because he is bad at hockey. But when he played he was always physical and would fight anyone. The only thing he brought was a physical presence. What you are saying makes absolutely no sense. And compared to Farnham, Glass is Wayne Gretzky.

But Glass wouldn't back down out of fear, he thought it was best not to fight or that the coach wouldn't have wanted him to fight. I've done nothing but kill the guy since he got here, but it was more AV for playing him than anything he did wrong. He does what he's supposed to do. And playing him last year turned out to be right decision imo.

Personally I think the coach told him not to fight, unless absolutely necessary. That was at the beginning of a game.We had dominated the Sens physically the game before, and Neil was put in there for one reason.I think Neil's presence in the lineup and nobody to fight him, emboldened the Sens and was the turning point of that series.
