In other news -- Saw this on sportsnet.ca (tell us how healthy the league really is, Bettman):

When the Carolina Hurricanes opened their 2017-18 campaign with an overtime victory against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday they did so in front of a sold-out crowd of 18,680 at PNC Arena.

On Tuesday, the Hurricanes’ second home game of the season had a different feel. This time the team lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets in overtime and the announced attendance at PNC Arena was a sparse 7,892.

With the Giants season over after just week 5, they should start letting Webb play in the second halves of games to get his feet wet, and the coaches can see what he's got.

And he'll have no one to pass to, and no offensive line to protect him.... good luck kid!

Amazing what a mess the Giants have become...

DRC suspended for leaving the team..Like Rob said NO receivers, NO offensive line, defense nowhere like last year. Major changes will be made, I hope

Giants have gone full implosion... 4 weeks into the season. They were considered contenders heading into the season, now... they may very well end up in the basement. And we all thought the Jets would be the laughing stock of the year. They're 3-2! Two more wins and they'll match last year's total!

Team with the best A.L. record, best fielding pct. great hitting & pitching lost to the " lowly " wild card team from the BIG Apple. Is it a fore runner of a trip to the promised land?

I grew up a Yankees fan, and admittedly haven't followed them very closely since they ran off a few WS wins in the late 90s. Saw a few games this year, and even though I wasn't really invested in the team, that game last night was a nail biter. I had forgotten how baseball can keep you on the edge of your seat in a completely different way than fast paced sports like hockey. Maybe it was just what was on the line, but man I was hanging on every pitch. That at-bat by Gardiner was a masterpiece.

Yep and Gardner had a 12 pitch AB vs Miller in the 5th

Tribe strength was not that they were a powerhouse hitting team...they were more of a "timely" hitting team and they didn't rely on just one or two players....on any given day, anyone in the lineup could beat you.

Shutting down Gomez, Encarnacion and Ramirez certainly helped. Lindor was strangely quiet as well.

I still say Francona lost that series when he threw Bauer out there on short rest.

Yeah I wouldnt of used Bauer there either... I would of rolled the dice with him in G5 because he shut them down in G1 and Keep Kluber away since they got to him in G2
