^^ I don't. He will always be a NYR - one of the best all time - in spite of the trade to Boston. And I want to see the celebration.

I hear ya and you are right....But my point here is they did him SO wrong....Gilberts and Eddies #'s have been up there for over 30 years...They F'd Howell and Bathgate too

I wont disagree with you there....#19 is long overdue.

I hope Hagelin sends pictures of his SC rings to Sather and Gorton

I guess he should send those pics to Anaheim too, since that's the team who traded him to Pittsburgh after he sh!t the bed there.

Hagelin had nothing to do with Pitt's title last year. He was awful all season.

You ABSOLUTELY CANNOT give MacDonagh a new contract that's gonna be 7 years at 50 mil...NO WAY he has a million miles on him already...He absolutely needs to be dealt.... see Marc Staal and Dan Girardi

Said it before and I'll say it again. Girardi and Staal were never even close to the defenseman that McDonagh has been

That is so true...I was at the Howell/Bathgate ceremony....I felt so bad for them....the majority of the crowd was young and paid absolutely no attention to what was going on. I even heard it referred to as the "ceremony for the old guys".

Right.... they didn't trade him because he was a bad player.

They traded him because he makes 4 million a year now, and only 1g 2a in 21 games to show for it

Nash is overpaid too, you're right.... But he also has 7g and 4a

Still not living up to the contract, but... Doesn't make me want Hagelin at 4 mill

Howell should have been there long before Graves even became a Ranger....not as an afterthought.

Nash signed that contract while still in Columbus, where he was putting up numbers and was the face of that franchise. At that time, had he been on the open market, just about every other team in the NHL would have paid that market price for him. Crying about his contract in the last year of the deal (that we didn't sign him to) is armchair quarterbacking at it very best.

$4 million per year is quite a bit for "intangibles", no? Just like paying Callahan $6m per year would have been a mistake too....imagine the uproar about that contract if he was here with all of the games he has missed. Talk about too many hard miles on a player...

Not saying I would or wouldn't keep McD but you better have a great plan in place to replace him and the answer better not be what we have on the Rangers and what we have in Hartford. Did he ask for a 7 year contract already? Don't remember hearing that

you're missing that we got back MSL, a first rounder, moved up in the second round, and Deangelo. And why does it matter that we gave up homegrown guys? Is it a pride thing?

None of the teams we traded those guys to has won anything....so, what did we miss?

Nash and Campfire are the only players that are on the team right now...The homegrown guys were already regulars with us...Those were our guys...they fit here...It makes me sad that our Management is way short on people with vision.

McD was getting abused by opponents. Again. Wouldn’t be surprised if the “abdominal injury” was from several hits he absorbed over the past two weeks.

And AV’s Rangers did dick about their captain taking unnecessary shots into the boards. As usual. No other team in the league allows their captain to be touched, except the Passive Pansies on Broadway.
