Fake news.

Boyle was never a defenseman....not in St. Sebastian High School.....not at Boston College...not even when he played for the Kings AHL team in Manchester.

I suppose he could have played some defense in the Boyle's backyard, but no one can confirm.

DeAngelo is a kid who appears to need his head screwed on a few more turns. He obviously pouted on his Hartford assignment and only lately has started to come around. Give him a little time to do some more growing up. His on ice performance is affected by his annoyance he is not in the NHL. He’s either going to get it together and start putting in the work or he’s a khl prospect.
For those that think he can just decide to play forward and turn into some kind of forward it’s not that easy, plus his same maturity issues would affect his play. Very, very few players can do it. DeAngelo’s problems are between his ears, and getting his ego under control to the point of doing his talking on the ice. I think he spent the first part of his Hartford season learning pouting isn’t going to get him anywhere. He's playing better now and maybe he has finally figured out he has holes in his game that he needs to fix before he gets to the NHL. He should also look at the Rangers defensive roster and thank the hockey gods that's the lineup he's trying to crack. It could be a lot harder elsewhere. For now he's got to wrap his head around becoming the best Hartford dman.

If all Gorton could get for Stepan and Raanta was a prospect and a kid with skills and baggage then Gorton gets an F

Sad to see any player going through what Kreider is going through now, but he has ZERO hockey sense. He has size and speed but doesn't use it. The NHL now has no checking and he should be running people over with his size. The Kreider you see on the ice now is the one he will be on this team, score 20-25 goals and be the 2000 version of Kovalev . As for Shattenkirk signing, I hated this deal from the get go. The way he played for Washington last year should have been a wake up call for this organization and realized that he can't play in the East. Holden has been probably the 2nd best defensemen this year behind Brady Skjei, time to start dealing some of this assets at the deadline and start the rebuild.

What do you get for Kreider? A guy who averages 20-25 goals, size, speed sometimes strength? or a top 4 D-man? Who's making that trade. My fears we get another has been, or supposed to have been type of guy the Rangers love. Mean while Kreider has proven he can perform consistently in NY, where thousands haven't.

Never heard that Kreider was supposed to be the next Kovy... Kovy was supposed to be a Bure type player.

A handful of Rangers are accused of having low hockey sense in AV's system... could it just be the system? People complain about AV's system and line changes, then complain about players not performing in that system. Can you actually have it both ways? Meanwhile, Kreider has succeeded with 28 goals last year... again, living up to what his scouting report is.

Before I ever gave up on a 28 goal scorer that has the skill package Kreider does I’d want to see him play for a different coach. Ranger players run hot and cold for Vigneault. They have since he got here. Going through the motion games or significant portions of games happens all to often. Kreider’s skill set maybe makes him more noticeable, but go down the list of Ranger players and there is a overall problem with consistency.

Why don't you just look at season over season results, thereby negating the typical ups and downs during a season. AV has had multiple seasons with the Rangers that you can do this fairly reliably. If you look at it season by season, Kreider's PPG over AV's tenure is pretty consistent, as was Stepans, and Nash's (Nash did have that monster outlier year in 14-15 but I don't think anyone's complaining about that)

Kreider to have 1st rib resection..... this is a procedure normally for thoracic outlet syndrome. He’s going to be out for a while ...

This is good news! Now maybe we can trade Henrik to a team with a shot to win

Probably the same as if he was recovering from just the blood clot.... 6 weeks or so is my guess, but I'm not a doctor.

He'll be back in time for the playoffs

Probably closer to 3 months than 6 weeks I would think.
