NYR have requested Rick Nash’s No-Trade list and Nash gave it to the club yesterday. The list is 18 teams Nash cannot be traded to (unless he were to waive his NTC). Conversely, NYR now have the green light to trade Nash to the 12 teams not on the list.

I would imagine the 12 teams Nash is willing to go to are teams he believes would give him the best shot to compete for the Cup and would either have the need for a scoring (rental) winger and/or be willing to pay the price.

They don't have to but it will open him up to more teams and hopefully bring back a larger return if done. Though with the guys running the show here who knows.

I don't think we'll get anywhere near the return most people seem to think he's gonna bring. If we get half of what we gave up, we'll be lucky...even eating half the contract.

If Nash goes to a team that puts him on a line with a playmaking center and a physical winger (and kept with them for more than a game or two), he will do well.

What he returns in a trade will be enough given his age and contract status. The Rangers will get a decent pick, it will be up to them to make the pick valuable. In other words, we're ****ed.

Like anything to get a good price you need a couple all in buyers. Compensation for Nash, Grabner and possibly even Mcdonagh will be determined by that interest. I think there will be a lot of interest for Nash and Grabner especially out West. You never know til it goes down but I expect a first round pick, at least one good young prospect hopefully a dman and a second for Nash and a first and maybe a 4rth for a 3rd or something like that for Grabner. A fourth or fifth for Desharnais and it will be a good day.

We are 3 weeks away from the trade deadline.

Currently sitting at last in The Met, with 55 pts (also 2 pts out of the final Wild Card spot)

I think The Rangers have faced reality, and are transitioning into the future of the team beyond this failed season.

https://foreverblueshirts.com/rangers-ask-rick-nash-trade-list/

McKenzie reports that Rick Nash will be submitting his list, which will get the bid war going.

Teams looking for a solid two way winger with scoring upside to improve their PK and 5 on 5 play will be willing to pay top value for a Rick Nash. He could be the biggest fish on the market.

Grabner should fetch a premium, also as a secondary scorer/pker. So we'll be keeping an eye on him too, as well as any other names that may surface..... Holden has worked our top pair most of the season.... McDonagh may be available if an offer presents itself too good to pass.

The good news seems to be that The Rangers could be selling high on these assets.

Nash and Grabner have had good seasons. Holden may actually bring back more than I would have thought at the start of the season..... Hell, I didn't even think he'd make the team out of camp

It should be an opportunity to get a decent collection of NHL ready prospects. If scouting is on target an influx high-level prospects to go with the remaining young NHLers, whatever is in Hartford (couple of Dmen and the 2 Centers) + Juniors should reboot things nicely. The Org would have a whole different feel, time draft picks (this year and next) develop and plenty of CAP. really need to have a great scouting plan going into these Trades that matches Gorts target team type and then of course get a coaching staff that matches the team type.
IT should be a good opportunity! ............

Agreed the secret to success in these upcoming deals is the prospects drafted. The Rangers have to make the right picks.

What the Rangers are likely going to look for in a Rick Nash trade
12:15PM 2/6/18

Interesting strategy if true..

Nash has submitted a list of at least 12 teams that he would accept a trade to.
Darren Dreger noted on TSN 1050 this morning that Nash's list could have been done strategically to include teams up against the cap that might not actually be able to acquire him or non-playoff teams.
Dreger said that because of that, Nash's actual list may only be 5 or 6 teams. (TSN 1050)

12:15PM:
McKenzie said that the Rangers are going to want to make sure that they get "at least a first round pick, maybe a second round pick or a prospect on top of that. Maybe even a third element, another pick or lower end player. They will be looking for at least what Arizona got for Martin Hanzal." (TSN 1040)

Hanzal, along with Ryan White and a 2017 4th round pick, was traded from Arizona to Minnesota last year for a package including a 2017 first round pick, 2018 second round pick, a 2019 conditional 4th rounder and minor leaguer Grayson Downing.

McKenzie notes that the following teams, Winnipeg, St. Louis, Anaheim, Boston, Calgary, LA and San Jose are all reportedly looking for a scoring winger.

and this ....

Darren Dreger, on TSN 1050, said that there is reportedly some interest in Rangers defenseman and pending UFA Nick Holden.
Holden has 3 goals and 6 assists this season with 101 hits, 61 blocked shots, 20 takeaways, 33 giveaways and an average of 18:59.

Dregor has to justify his existence and try to convince you that’s a new idea. Nash can do whatever he wants with the list. I’m sure after already consulting teams he and his agent will be making sure to include teams with the best chance to win and who might want him. For Gorton it’s a, what it is, it is scenario. He’s going to get the best deal in his mind he can get.

This is being blabbed all over. Probably unsubstantiated and only the opinion of Bob and his gang of BS’ers.

“””””””
The latest edition of TSN’s Insider Trading has the Rangers asking price for Rick Nash and it’s a doozy.

Per Bob McKenzie, they are looking for a 1st round pick, a top prospect, and another lesser prospect or pick. He went on to state that most GM’s find rental prices to steep but a similar return that Arizona received for Matin Hanzal (1st rd pick, and a 2nd rd pick) is likely. Pierre Lebrun also stated the Rangers willingness to eat salary which will sweeten the deal.

Additionally, Grabner’s expected price is a first round pick and many GM’s see him as a more value pick up.

Nash will fetch a 1st rounder +

Grabner could also bring back a 1st rounder

If they trade McDonagh in the off season too, that's potential for 4 1st round picks in this draft.... 4..... All hypothetical, but that's pretty exciting.

Especially since McDonagh and Nash should yield more than just the 1st round pick

Are you retarded? Brooks was completely wrong. Brassard and Stepan turned into lazy, overpaid dogs. They sucked once they got paid. This team isn't losing because of the center position. They are losing because AV is a moron who won't play any stay at home defenseman who know where to stand on the ice. They are soft because AV is a pussy. They lose because they traded away first round picks four years in a row and their second round picks two of those years. They lose because after 11 years of really good hockey, there is bound to be a down year. As usually Rranger, you're clueless. Brooks has never seen Andersson play in his life most likely. The Stepan trade with his moronic salary was Gorton's best deal. Zibanejad was a gift. Brassard is done. He basically is just an old, overpaid dope at this point. If you are listening to Brooks, stop watching hockey. That old, senile idiot lost it a long time ago.

This team needs a new coach. Period. Quite honestly. They are lazy. Andersson and Chytil are the exact types of players they need a lot more of. Ronning fits that mold. So will Fontaine. Graves also. However, our stupid head coach is too stubborn much like Torts was to change his way. Nash, Holden, McDonagh and Zucc. These are all guys who could help contenders. At this point, they aren't part of the solution here. I give Hayes, Vesey and Buchnevich another year. See what they do.

I've been on two boards, with the same name Chipster, you should remember the old Rangers board and now this one. You are a record with the same drivel. I like draft picks and could argue with you but again, you only know hot dogs.

Then get back into rating hockey rink hot dogs, on your Dogs Blog. It’s the only thing you know around a hockey rink.

The amount of crazy in that post is unreal. It's more likely he gave an orderly the slip and got to the library computer at the institution.

He is unique.

I can't wait to read posts that start with "are you retarded". Honestly those are the best ones.

I will agree with him on one thing - Brooks is an idiot and most of what he wrote is completely wrong. How bout a knock on AV for once? He has no hand in this cr@p on the ice?

I know Oscar Lindberg's not doing much for Vegas, but if you knew you were going to trade Stepan leaving you short at center maybe would have been a good idea to hold onto him? He would have given much more flexibility and skills than folks like Hugh Carey and Peter Netherlands.

Brooks is a hack - has been for years

I would love to see Brooks and Tortorella in Columbus locker room discussion.
