What exactly is your criticism of Nash again? What does he not do, or do poorly, or, ???
Didn't want him here in the first place. No need to relive the mistake.

Right, why? What part of him or his game is a disappointment to you?

I (along with others) felt that deal was a mistake and, things turned out, we were proven right. Nash has been a disappointment from the time he got here....he is the embodiment of everything that went wrong here....the slate has been wiped clean and management has moved on......no need to go back.

It’s ok we have Fast with Zibanejad and Kreider. I’m sure Tampa was hoping to land Fast instead of Miller to play with Kucherov and Stamkos. Luckily we still got Fast.

I would take Grabner back for the right price and term. He is a rare commodity - a bottom 6 goal scorer.

At the dollars involved - yes the deal was a mistake, but the Rangers had more success with him than they did before he came. His scoring was not what was expected (again, especially considering the cap hit) but there were several other elements to his game that were far better than I expected (again - you may say we don't pay upwards of 8 million for a good defensive winger with good possession skills and good but not great offensive numbers).

If he is available for shorter term at lower dollars, I'd still take a shot

Blind hatred.

We gave up Duby, Anisimov, Erixon and a 1st rounder. None of which has won anything. What are we exactly lamenting here? Cause he had a huge contract (which CBJ signed him to....an amount that the market definitely would have him pegged at)? You wanted more playoff goals from him? Sure...everyone did, but even that is dramatically overstated.

Blind hatred.

Wide eyed disdain is more appropriate. He wasn't what we paid for -- plain and simple.

I just realized we're going to see that lineup I posted earlier, before the season is over.

Kreider Zibanejad Fast
Namesknikov Chytil Buchnevich
Spooner Hayes Zuccarello
Vesey Andersson Carey

Is probably what we'll see in just a couple games

Trading J.T. Miller still might bite Gorton in the butt. Miller scored his sixth and seventh goals (and 11th and 12th points) Thursday in his 11th game with the Lightning, playing on a line with Kucherov and Stamkos. Basically relegated to playing with the leftovers in New York, he was never one of chewys boys. Whether he continues his scoring in Tampa, now at 52 points more than any Ranger, remains to be seen. Either way I would have liked to seen how another coach did with him in New York. I quess we are with Cooper in TB, and it's interesting, Miller's impressed Cooper enough to play with two of the best players in the league.

He's playing in Namestnikov's spot and producing like Namestnikov

Meanwhile Namestnikov was demoted to the 4th line last night by AV

Actually Miller is producing quite a bit better than Namestnikov did while playing with Kucherov and Stamkos, This post is not about a Miller, Namestnikov comparison after only 10 games, more a observation a NHL coach deems Miller worthy of playing with two players of that calibre while blockhead was obvious in his disdain for Miller. And I'm not suprised Namestnikov got put on the fourth line last night. More of blockheads coaching shenanigans.

When you read stuff like that, you hope is true, especially giving up the most high percentage chances against, in the last three years leading the league every one of those years, you can’t understand how the Rangers could possibly bring chewy back. Other gruesome numbers in there as well.

I can't imagine that a coach who has not been given a vote of confidence by management, has been here 5 years already, is about to miss the playoffs, and just had arguably the worst season of his career, could somehow retain his job.

If AV keeps his job I'll be calling for Gorton to lose his. This should be the easiest decision of Gorton's tenure so far.

Those d numbers are brutal. The Rangers need a different philosophy.
AV needs to be fired.

I continue to have a different perspective on this reboot. I fully expect the Rangers to be a competitive team next season. A WC type team worst case. Then back moving upwards in two years. If you think the Rangers are going to be the Isles, Oilers, Leafs, Sabres, on and on that make top pick after top pick and take YEARS and YEARS of bottom feeding before they turn it around (if they turn it around) I say no shot.

I say right now we will not make all the picks we have. We will deal some to move up and get better quality. Maybe we look to move into the top 3. Maybe we look to get a 2nd 1st round pick in the top 15. Don't know, but I predict all these 1st, 2nd, 3rd round picks we have will not be made by us.

I also predict we will see a trade or trades made around the draft that involve current players (or an RFA).

And lastly I predict we'll be active in free agency with our cap space. BUT I feel Gorton will do it smartly where you may see a little higher AAV per season and less years on the deal. I don't see more than a 3-year deal coming out of Gorton unless it is for that special player.

We'll see if my thoughts are correct or not, but that's how I feel. I just don't see this being a long drawn out reboot with an expectation of making all those picks/having top picks for a few years in a row. I just don't see that at all, and rightfully so as MANY MANY teams in the NHL show, that is far from a sure thing, if you ever even get out of that hole.
