Hopefully the scouts saw this Hayes and not the one we're used to seeing every other nite

2 wins in a row puts them just under .500 and with a glimpse of hope to be a bubble team

5 wins in 13 games, only 1 regulation win. Only Florida has a worse ROW than us.

This is not a bubble team

We should be glad its not a bubble team too.

If it were, we may not look to move some players that should and need to be moved.

Right now the Rangers have managed to keep themselves within striking distance. Doesn’t matter how, what matters is they are not out of a playoff chase. Which is pretty good for this point in the season. They will have to be better in the next ten games, including regulation wins especially within the conference. As long as Quinn remains fair on the accountability they should get better, you can see guys starting to buy in, Na estnikov most notably. Nothing worse for a hockey player than not playing or sitting on the bench. Take ice time away they either smarten up in a hurry or you may as well get rid of them.

If some of you are thinking about Rangers making playoffs please revise your expectations.
If not your health might be in a jeopardy.

Agree, this team better off not making playoffs & getting another Top 10 pick or 2. I'd prefer to make some trades & get picks in the Top 10, build a real team for the future. What is the advantage of making playoffs only to get blown out 1st round.

If Quinn doesn’t do everything in his power to win then fire his ass. With the lottery there are no pick quarantee’s, plus Quinn doesn’t appear to take losing as easy as chewy did. The Rangers have had a swing in effort and execution from not so good early to pretty good lately. The style and game he wants played doesn’t need top end skilled players as much as it does grinders. You can see his game plan taking shape interrupted by players used to little accountability for transgression, unless you were young or named Miller. I think they are coming off two of there best efforts this season and are looking at three winnable games coming up. I wouldn’t be to quick to write them off. They are not even that far out of their division race.

I think DQ wants to win for sure, theres just not enough high end talent on this team. We literally have no 1st line players right now.

Get rid of the dead weight and continue to build through the draft and some smart FA signings.

Hayes, Zuuc, and one of the high priced dmen should be traded. If Nash brought back a #1 maybe two of these can also? And maybe we can resign Zuuc in the offseason, ala like the Yankees did

I have no problem with moving a Hayes and even Zuccarello, along with some others Quinn identifies as dead wood. But keep the foot on the petal with a high effort, dedication, and attention to detail bar and you never know where you can end up. Its not like teams qualifying for the 7 and 8 playoff holes are loaded with front line players.

You always have to try to win (i.e. see slickless Oils), I just don't think they have the team to win. If this team makes playoffs, he should be considered for coach of the year. This year's team is very mediocre.
