Looks like he is earning a thread about himself. I don't think his issues end with his reinstatement for today's game. Hopefully Quinn gets him going. And Quinn had this to say and its such a simple to the point cure for Buchnevich's issues..

"""""Buchnevich will go back into the lineup after having been a healthy scratch for the last two games, in San Jose and Anaheim. Asked how he thought Buchnevich was taking the decision to scratch him, Quinn said: "I hope he's pissed. I think he is. I want everybody to be pissed when they don't play. Go do something about it.""""

The last five words nail it.

"""""Go do something about it.""""

Other than the 1st period against Buffalo (when everyone stunk), Buch was one of the better players on the ice during the game. Strong forecheck, good possession and backchecking. Didn't show up on the scoreboard but it drives me crazy to see Lettieri and McLeod play ahead of him. McLeod - I get why they have him here but he takes 1-2 stupid penalties a game and his lack of skills and amount of close games the Rangers are in basically make them a 3 line team in 3rd period of most games. Lettieri? - I just don't get why he's here. Nevermind Buchnevich, there are 3 or 4 in Hartford that should be tried and send Lettieri down. He's the definition of a chicken running around without a head out there - lots of chasing - nothing resulting.

DQ is just trying to motivate him to bring his best every night.

If he's discouraged about being sat out, he's a bum.... reading that he's angry is a good thing, as Quinn said.

Same thing with Andersson being sent down. He needs to get hungry and dominate that league

I've already gone on record as to what I think of Quinn's approach. We'll see if it works out.

Andersson will be back up shortly, before Tuesday's game vs Montreal.

Buchnevich is one of my favorites, but I will admit his consistency as far as his compete level, is inconsistent at best. At first I attributed this to ice time/consistency issue (under AV) as he seemed much better when he played consistently on KZB. This year however, he's been exhibiting the same symptoms. I'm still fully willing to give him time and talent to play with, but it does not look like he can get consistent effort and therefore cannot fully realize all his talent.

FWIW this is not uncommon for younger players, nor does it mean "he's a bum" or "he should be traded", it just means you have to adjust your expecations to reality instead of continually looking at what he's not or what he could be. This is exactly what happened with Kreider for example, it's easy to see his size and speed and talent and say he should be scoring 35g/75 pts every year. But that's just not going to happen.

Buchnevich has first line talent for sure, but if he doesn't bring consistent effort, and if he doesn't play with talented players, he's not going to fully realize that. He's not one to drive the play on his line. I don't want to see him go but unless something changes I wouldn't be surprised if he left at the trade deadline.

Buchnevich is a lazy piece of Euro trash. The stupid bastards on HF sucked him off for a year. Now they have all shut up and gone into hiding because he sucks ass and Quinn knows this. Gorton will find some team stupid enough to trade for him. Hopefully, he uses him with either Smith or Staal to dump their ass.

Buch out 4-6 weeks due to broken thumb. I heard they just realized this now. He broke it a few weeks ago back when we was benched and had his thumb up his ass.

J/K, he was waking up. At least now we know Andersson and Chytil will be staying up for a while now.
