A soldier that is very useful on our team in my opinion.
.
Reminds me of John Starks when he was traded to Bulls but in his case he had shown his displeasure openly to be on the Chicago Bulls team.I hope Strome is far from that and loves to be here and back in NY as a Ranger.
Once the hatred iis developed it never really dies, does it?

I think with time when he gets comfortable ,Strome will stay here.He is very solid player.

Make him captain, he'll be gone by the trade deadline

He looks like he's fitting in. He wore #18 for NYI and Edm... Since Staal wears that he chose #16, and I can't help but think of Brassard when seeing him play out there. I could see similar numbers coming from Strome when he's in his prime that Brass put up for us when he was in his prime... though he'll probably have to do it from the RW instead of the C slot

I posted after the trade if he plays hard every game, can win some faceoffs, play good defensive hockey, hit some people, & score once in a while, it is a good trade. So far that's what it is.

It won’t take much to top Spooners contribution, Strome’s played over 300 games and is below a point every two games clip. He is closer to he is than he has much upside. If he hits, checks, scraps the odd time and fills in on the third line that’s pretty much my expectation. Anything beyond is a bonus and at this point in his career a bit of a suprise.

Halverson now with a .920 save % in his league while Mazanec is a disgrace and should be released. I swear, Halverson must have pissed somebody off in the organization.

It's called being terrible for your entire professional career. He's over a .906 save percentage for the first time since joining the organization and is almost always south of .900. Oh wait, you predicted his greatness, that is why you notice he's finally playing decent in super beer league.

He's on pace to put up 32 pts in 64 games for us this year.

Last year
Nash gave us 28 in 60
Vesey also 28, but in 79

Grabner had 31 in 59 games and
Fast was good for 33 in 71

So if he plays on par, he's right among the average middle 6 guys.... about what we can and should expect I suppose. There's potential for more, but he's never done too much more than that. He's only 25 though. His best season may yet to be seen

Any Ty Ronning scored 3 goals, 2 assists and was +4 in his first ECHL game. How did the Hartford coaching staff not see his greatness?

If you actually did some research once in a while moron, you would have known that Halverson had the second highest save % on the Pack last year. Of course, like most of the regulars here, you're fukkkking lazy and don't do any work before you run your mouth.

Where did I say anything in my post about Halverson you stupid putz? And speaking about doing some research, if you did yours you would have noticed there is another goalie by the name of Connor LaCouvee, that plays on the same ECHL team as the great Halverson, that has a better save percentage and a better GAA. I wonder why Gordie and Benoit didn't draft him instead? Now go get your shine box.

Good thing you did all that research. I mean a .906 save percentage in 5 entire games for the Pack is really impressive. I don't understand how Lundqvist still has a job to be honest. With that track record over such a long period of time I can't believe they are overlooking this guy. Maybe we could trade him for some solid assets like some goalie pads or even a chest protector or 2.

Mazanec is 27 and has absolutely no NHL future. Halverson is 22 and the Rangers used a second round pick on him. It makes ZERO SENSE this kid is in the ECHL at the expense of a 27 year old reject. That is not what a rebuilding organization does. Ronning is only 20 so it's not a bad thing he gets some time there. Same with Day. Both weren't getting enough ice time. I wouldn't put much into the decision making of people running the Pack. That team has been poorly run for the last 5-6 years. Then went from being a good development team to below average.

Sounds like he'll be our 2nd line C next game.

The lines are

Kreider Zibanejad Hayes
Vesey Spooner Chytil
Namestnikov Howden Zuccarello
Belesky Andersson Fast

with Buchnevich on his way

If Zucc still isn't ready Fast moves up to the 3rd lone, and Fogarty plays on the 4th...

Hahaha I did that huh? Nice... Yeah Strome was there, I think.

Sounds like they're done with that move. Zuccarello wasn't in the game either.... but he and Buchnevich will be returning this week.

Kreider Zibanejad Buchnevich
Zuccarello Hayes Chytil
Namestnikov Howden Strome
Vesey Andersson Fast

Is what I'm hoping for

Pretty average depth player, nothing special, but you kinda need guys like that, and he's a possible upgrade on Spooner.

On the other side of that trade, Edmonton started with Jordan Eberle and ended up with Ryan Spooner. Oy vey...

So, here are the lines:
72-93-36; 20-13-89; 90-21-17; 26-16-39. Lias Andersson was rotating in on the fourth line. Top two D pairs are 18-44 and 76-77. 33-42-54 rotated.

I didn’t like the Andersson over Middlestadt pick, said it the day of the draft on here and still believe it. But that doesn’t mean Andersson can’t be a player. But if the Rangers continue bumbling his development then they may end up with a high profile fail on their hands, largely because of their own inept handling.
Part of this kids issues may well be that he has never faced any adversity in his career til he got over to North America. Growing up in Sweden the son and nephew of NHL players and players on Swedish best teams his name probably opened a lot of doors and helped him along the way. But he still has talent that is evident, and a bit of pit bull to him that he has to be able to use against men that punch back. So he’s got a hurdle there to clear and I think his game will evolve once he’s over the hurdle of North American players coming back at him when he try’s to get aggressive. And from what I’ve seen of him he has to be a, in your face, crash the net, little prick to play against to be effective. And that’s a big hurdle for a young kid to clear to play that game in the NHL.
Until such time as Hayes gets moved if he does, Andersson should be in Hartford being the go to guy, he was just evolving into when he was called up.

Andersson will be fine. He Chytil and Howden will all be good NHLers... there's just a bit of a logjam at forward right now, so finding a consistent spot in the lineup..... along with having a new coach trying to figure out EVERYBODY'S spot in the lineup vet to rookie..... along with key players coming back..... a guy like Andersson gets bounced around as a result. Strome is too..... I'm sure we're all glad Belesky is getting a fair look though, right?

Ultimately the "4th line" should solidify itself as

Vesey Andersson Fast

Leaving the rest of the lineup as

Chytil Zibanejad Zuccarello
Kreider Hayes Buchnevich
Namestnikov Howden Strome

.... at least until the trade deadline

Add Kravtsov, Rykov, Shestyorkin, Hajek, Lindgren, Miller in to the mix potentially next year (or two) possibly a Panarin!?!? This team isn't too far off.

If Zuccarello and Buchnevich start adding to the offense the way they can this is a pretty deep lineup (that lacks elite talent.... but deep) I could see them making the playoffs this year as a bubble team, and being even better next year

If the Rangers take the consensus BPA when they are up to bat and he busts I will never be upset....but when they do this off the board BS and it fails it drives me nuts....Everybody had Middlestadt in the top 5 prospects and called him electric etc.....They did not say the same things about Lias

Next year will tell the tale on Andersson. And if the rangers don't put him in a position now to build towards succeeding next year, then they are playing with fire. The "we drafted him because he was the most NHL ready prospect" has proven to not be ready. This kids got a long ways to go, and he needs to play lots, which he wont do in New York, do the math where he should be..
