Add Buchnevich, Lemieux, DeAngelo, Pionk and Claesson, plus Halversonm depending on his perceived value, Bigras and Brickley for Hartford and backup and the Rangers are sitting pretty with 44 leaving lots of room for some UFA's.

I seriously doubt they bring Halverson back. He's been a disappointment, and the Rangers at this point have more goaltenders that need north american roster spots than they have spots available.

Disagree. Halverson had a good year in the E, and became the starter at Hartford after Mazanec bolted and Tokarski was loaned. Either Igor or Georgy become the starter at Hartford. Halverson should be 4 and Huska is 5. No need to resign Nell, and Lindbom hasn't even played a full season in Sweden due to injury. That Lindbom pick still a head scratcher.

I agree. It's not like anyone ticketed for Hartford has done much better than Halvorson. The choice will come down to scouting staffs view of the kids future and upside.

No surprises here.

Claesson may have been worth bringing back as a cheap veteran 7th that could fill in for injuries and you could probably flip at the deadline for a late round draft pick. But, meh, these guys are a dime a dozen this time of year.

Correction: Nell was qualified. That's a surprise, that they went with Nell over Halverson.

According to Capfriendly.com, Kakko's contract doesn't count against the 50. Anybody know what's the deal?

Where did you read that? I've seen only reports he wasn't qualified, including this on NHL.com (scroll down to Rangers)
