Location: USA | News broke a couple of days ago, it's official now. Much has also been made of the european out clause, which he may exercise if he's not happy with the situation he's in. TBH it's more than likely this clause will be exercised just looking at the depth chart, but we will have a much better sense when he comes over and plays with/against his peers.

If he comes in and dominates, if he plays so well they can't NOT give him a spot on the roster out of camp, then they'll make a necessary move. I don't see them doing that before. That's not to say they won't try to cut some dead weight on defense, but it won't be because they're handing a roster spot to Rykov.

They have to be ready to take the next step too, you can't just plug in young guys and expect success, or else you end up as the Islanders.

Brooks reporting that the european assignment clause is valid for year 2... so he is in NA no matter what for this upcoming year.

| The Rangers know now if they expect a couple out of Rykov, Lindgren, Hajek, and Fox to be on the team. If they do they will dump money players ie Shattenkirk, Smith before the season and any way they can, most likely by subsidizing a contract trade somehow. |
