I was hoping he resigned (as in retired) not re-signed.

He should be in Hartford all year. If he ever gets a call-up, means we have real bad issues. So many better call-ups now at Hartford

He played well in the pre-season last year, but did nothing when the games counted......

Lettieri is pretty confusing. Watching him in the AHL, he's borderline dominant and should translate to a decent depth forward at the NHL level, but seeing him in games is a huge disappointment.

Many's the dominant AHL player that couldn't make the NHL. When you move up a league if your put on a third or fourth line and your not scoring, you better be a good defensive player, you better be hard on the puck forechecking, take the body at every opportunity, and battle, battle, battle, til and if you start scoring. I don't think Vinnie got the memo.

Lettieri seems to be a classic AAAA guy - great in AHL but his scoring ability disappears in the NHL. The Rangers need guys like this in Hartford if they want to develop draft picks. It is difficult to improve if you are playing with bottom of the barrel guys.

He's a AAAA player. Too good for the A, not good enough for the N.

I mean, he is what he is. He was a depth acquisition, he's a depth player. The guys the organization are really betting big on, are the first and second rounders and the acquisitions. Any of these other guys, the mid to late rounders, the trade-throw ins, the NCAA signings, the Euro signings - you don't expect anything and if it works out then great. Rangers sign half a dozen of these guys every year and once every 3 years, like one guy works out.

Don't know. Like Andersson when he was recalled later he looked much better. NHL game finally slowed down for him. He was consistently getting some chances. He's a great righty shot on the PP. I don't think he can crack this lineup but he would be a guy I would ask for along with Lindgren if I took Namestnikov or Shattenkirk.

If someone gets injured, we won't be scared of a Lettieri call up. Depth is good.

The Rangers will have Fogarty, Gettinger, and depending on who makes the team Andersson or Nieves for callups and depending on cap Belesky. Lettieri really wasn't needed and hasn't been remotely effective. I mentioned elsewhere his skill set which is pretty one dimensional (shooter) is just not suitable for a three four line guy. I don't expect any more out of him than last year, which wasn't much.

Considering the alternative for the spot would be like a Matt Lombardi type signing, I have no problem with this.
