I've been pretty happy with Jones. Looking forward to seeing him more for the Pack.

All very expected. Jones has looked okay but he wasn't going to stay long anyway

I was thinking that with so many new players, that this pre season we would have had the guys that we knew were going to start get some experience together. That team we put out against the Flybitches the other night was jus stupid. If you want to use the 4th line for tryouts tha so be it but our guys need to gel a little bit. Unless of course we are treating the seaon as practice... for when... There is no time like NOW!

Your 2019-2020 New York Rangers

Forwards Lias Andersson, Pavel Buchnevich, Filip Chytil, Jesper Fast, Brett Howden, Kaapo Kakko, Vitali Kravtsov, Chris Kreider, Brendan Lemieux, Vladislav Namestnikov, Artemi Panarin, Ryan Strome, Mika Zibanejad

Defensemen : Tony DeAngelo, Adam Fox, Libor Hajek, Ryan Lindgren, Brady Skjei, Marc Staal, Jacob Trouba

Goaltenders: Alexandar Georgiev,Henrik Lundqvist,

If they can move Namestnikov or Fast in a decent return deal then McKegg is plenty capable of stepping in. A little more suited for a fourth line role. .Kravstov in his small sample size has looked like a little to much watching, not enough participating, although I’m sure that’s been discussed. He looks like a guy that needs to be in the NHL to figure it out. You can see the talent he just needs to find his way. I expect a lot more out of him than Howden, Chytil or Andersson contributed last year. They still have Boo and Fogarty for call ups, and Smith on defense or maybe Rykov once he’s had some AHL time and gets to 100% either way he’s headed to Hartford. Shesty gets the Hartford gig for a bit til Gorton figures out if he really wants to move Georgiev.
Start the season.

Nah, he had his ticket punched for Hartford from the beginning. But he was a very good college player and if he can produce at the AHL level he will also make a very good bottom 6 at the NHL level, hard working defensive center. Nothing "special" but better to sign this type of player out of college and spend your lower draft picks trying to find talent.

In case you missed this the last few times I posted it...

Panarin Zibanejad Buchnevich
Kreider Chytil Kakko
Kravtsov Howden Strome
Lemieux Andersson Fast
Namestnikov

Skjei Trouba
Staal Fox
Hajek DeAngelo

Lundqvist
Georgiev

If and when Kreider gets moved, Kravtsov takes his spot on the 2nd line LW...

And the line will be made of 3 consecutive years of 1st round picks....

Now down to 34. DiGiuseppe cleared waivers and O'regan placed on waivers.

The new lines at camp are very telling.

Posted these lines this morning on another board.

Buchnevich-Zibanejad-Panarin
Kreider-Strome-Kakko
Chytil-Howden-Namestnikov
Lemieux-Andersson-Fast

Skjei-Trouba
Hajek/Lindgren-DeAngelo
Staal-Fox

Makes too much sense. With Kredier and Kakko on the wings that is a power line. You don't want Kakko with young players. It would waste his skill his first season. Chytil can't win draws and Howden can be a beast on draws. That 4th line can be a huge 4th line which probably will be a 3rd line on a lot of nights. I kind of thought they would put Staal with Fox but whatever.

Kravtsov has all the time in the world to develop. He's probably 20 good AHL games and Chytil sucking from being called up.

No surprise there. I think Kravtsov has an idea that if he matures quickly he can take Chytil's job. Chytil should spend an entire year in the AHL. I said that last season. His intangibles suck. McKegg to me looked like a perfect guy for the 4th line role if Kravtsov and Chytil need time in the AHL.

O'Regan is still officially on the roster, but was put on waivers yesterday at noon. He can be cut/assigned after 12pm today unless someone takes him.

Rangers need to hire a Senior Intangibles Coach because according to dump that's the key to creating NHL players

I don't get all the calls for Strome to be 2nd line center. Granted we are a bit inexperienced down the middle but nobody seems to be aware that about 70% of Strome's points last year were on the powerplay. He'll suck and we'll end up with either Chytil or Andersson there anyway.

I do have a feeling that Kravtsov stays and Howden is the guy going down to spend some time sharpening up his game. He could learn a little about playing the defensive end of the game from some of the vets down at Hartford. Kravtsov is a beast - I just wouldn't understand any reasoning for him being sent down.

Also, still think there's an opportunity to unload Namestnikov - it helps with cap space among other things. Wouldn't have a problem with McKegg filling whatever role Names was going to play anyway and for far less $$$.

I like Dump saying Kravstov might have an idea that he needs to mature quickly. There’s billions of $$ in perfecting the 'mature quickly' routine and selling it to parents all over the world. Possibly a Nobel peace prize in there for dump.

Should we assume the top 4 lines play tonight along with top 3 d pairings? Could make sense to keep Panarin under wraps again

Good assumption, esp since they have confirmed Hank is getting the full game and Shesterkin is backing up.
