Nelson is a dirty scumbag, and Kreider steps up again. Just wish he would've unloaded on that pussy. Nelson turtled when challenged, as usual.

Tony D has titanium balls to scrap with Johnston.

Plus the Nelson hit on Zib was a high cross check - should have been at least 2, looked almost like a head shot

Great win. Lemieux helps with some BS in this game for the future.

Glad to see a big win. Say whatever you want about having fighting in games, but more often than not it makes teams more of a unit. Multiple players jumping in to stick up for teammates makes for a tight team.

Two Quinn quotes post game that is music to my ears.

""If we’re going to have success we’ve got to add that (physical) element to our game, along with playing fast, and I thought we did a good job of that other than the poor start,” Quinn said.""

""You can’t underestimate what Smith and Haley did for us,” Quinn said. “We’re not an overly big team but those guys mean an awful lot to us and we had everybody pulling in the right direction tonight.”

He gets it, it ain't figure skating.

And this is one more reason why smith is still here. Playing as a PK dman, filling in for injured d during a game, playing with physicality on the 4th line, an occasional bout, and this is how Smith has value to the Rangers.

Quinn is smart enough to know that about Smith and utilize him to his best advantage. I don’t have a lot of trouble with Smiths game. Although a really good team or contender has guys like Smith on the fourth line, but with hands capable of 10 goals plus a year. Until somebody better comes along and that hasn’t happened, he will do. Hockey is still a game of physicality and Quinn nailed it the Rangers are not huge have a lot of skill and need some physical players to balance it out.
