Not certain yet, the Rangers still have to meet a number of criteria to open their practice facility in Westchester, but Tuesday looks possible. Also not many players in the NY area so maybe not a lot of attendance anyway...besides which it's all voluntary at this point.

A nice read at a time we all could use a memory that "will last a life time". In hopes of a ride soon down the canyon of heroes, lets remember that winning as Messier says here isn't for everyone. Voted the best trade in New York Sports History,,, certainly got my vote!

news............
"A day after Phase 2 of the NHL’s “Return to Play” plan officially began, the Rangers reopened their practice facility for voluntary small-group workouts Tuesday.

Among the limited group of players participating in on-and-off ice workouts at MSG Training Center were Brendan Smith, Brendan Lemieux, Chris Kreider, Marc Staal, Adam Fox and Phillip Di Giuseppe. Rangers president John Davidson and general manager Jeff Gorton were also seen entering the facility. Davidson entered the facility wearing a mask with a dog head on it, far different from the red, white and blue striped mask he wore for the Blueshirts as their goalie.

Phase 2 guidelines ensure players remain in the same groups of six or fewer in order to limit potential exposure to contracting the coronavirus. Players must be tested for COVID-19 at least 48 hours before entering the facility and twice weekly, per the NHL’s 22-page memo released at the end of May.

Artemi Panarin is among the Rangers who are known to be in the area but weren’t reported to be at the facility Tuesday. Panarin was awaiting his coronavirus test result and is expected to be on the ice Wednesday.

Igor Shesterkin’s agent, Rick Komarow, told The Post that the rookie netminder will continue training in Florida for the time being.

The league informed players last month that the third phase would not take place until at least July 10.

Each day more news as we inch closer to being back

Late yesterday it was announced that Vegas will be one of the NHL’s hub cities for the playoffs. According to Sportsnet, Gary Bettman will be making the formal announcement soon. As for the other city, the league would like it in Canada. Why Canada? Simply because it’s much cheaper due to the weak Canadian dollar.

NHL and its Players Association have agreed to start Phase 3 on July 10th. This signals an early August start to the Qualifying Rounds and a Stanley Cup Final in September.

Yeah, just read that...going to be a busy sheet of ice with all those games being played on it. Will be more akin to the Traverse City tourney...and Vegas, 110 degrees outside while they're skating on ice inside...
