So, after watching the last two games, it feels like the kid line doesn't have the same offensive pop with Motte on it, and the fourth line seems a little weaker with Kakko on it, wondering if it might make sense to switch those guys back to their original lines.

I think one of Gallants strong suits this season has been his adjustments to lines when he thought they were needed. I agree the kid line was better with Kakko and would be surprised if he doesn’t go back to that. But assuming they get by game six he’s gotta get the Panarin line going for game seven. If Zibs line can’t play any better against Staal’s line in a game seven they are sunk .And it’s not like the Staal line is doing this fabulous checking job on them they are just flat out, out playing Zibs line. Character time the next two games.

A little pregame talk about how a january home sunday afternoon third game in 5 day effort, won't cut it might help. Its round two it gets tougher every round, strap a set on and do what needs to be done. This team's ability to win and lose against Carolina is only separated by their will to win. The out come will be 100% based on their commitment.

The kid line has been very good, although they need a little more out of Kakko. With the play of Strome almost to the point he's not helping Panarin's performance, especially receiving passes in high % scoring areas and doing nothing, Strome is basically playing his way out of New York, and unless a team gets really stupid the bigger payday he might have expected 1/2 way through the year is shriveling. But that's his problem, which is fine considering the emergence of Chytil. Drury doesn't have to rush out this summer looking for a 2c based on Chytil's growth in his game, especially since Gallant sat him a couple months back. At this point signing Copp if reasonable makes more sense than Strome and Copp provides some insurance as a 2C if Chytil stumbles. But Chytil won't, the boy in him is just about gone, and when he shows up next fall he will be ready for a much larger role.
