Jean Ratelle was one of the classiest offensive players to ever dress for the Rangers.  He scored 40 goals in 1971-72 and 1972-73 and hit the 30 goal mark on a further four occasions.  His 336 goals, 481 assists and 817 points rank second, third and third respectively in franchise history, and his 109 point season in 1971-72 stood for 34 years until Jaromir Jagr broke it.

Controversially traded to the rival Bruins in November of 1975 along with fellow Rangers legend Brad Park in exchange for Phil Esposito and Carol Vadnais, Ratelle remained in the heart of many Rangers fans even while he found it hard to forgive the team.  Things were finally smoothed over, and Ratelle became the final member of the Goal A Game line to have hteir number raised, when his #19 was lifted to the rafters.
