Blueshirts Bring Back Betts
Oft Injured Forward Brought Back
The Rangers have announced that they have re-signed centerman Blair Betts. Acquired in March of 2004 in the trade that sent Chris Simon to the Calgary Flames, Betts has struggled with shoulder injuries and was once again unable to complete the season in Hartford last year. The defensive minded pivot is yet to play for the Rangers having been injured when originally acquired and missing out on his opportunity last season with the NHL lockout in effect. The 6-1 210lb 25 year old is expected to compete for a starting spot if he can remain healthy through camp and the preseason.
