CK will probably be better this season if he is healed up but this is the smart move for the Rangers. This opens up the left side for the Rangers and also gives them cap room to scare off potential bidders for Cuylle and KMiller.

Sign and trade K Miller

just do not lose him for a few picks next year - but who knows, some team might overpay salary and years because:

"he does skate well, he can put up points, he can pull big minutes, he is only 25,  he is a bigger body who will hit - maybe it has just been the crazy Ranger head coaching turnover and Ranger nonsense that has held him back......."

and they are not wrong - he is a true enigma.

I could see somebody sign him and he turns into an allstar.

For sure, if he was on another team to start his career, and was at the same stage, I know I'd be willing to take a shot at bringing him in...and who knows, maybe the current coaching team could unlock him, though I'm pretty sure Drury's already made up his mind and he's going to be dealt.

Honestly depending on salary so it’s a tradeable contract for some value if needed, I wouldn’t be scared to give him another shot, using the excuse Housley didn’t have a clue about moldings and maintaining defenceman. I don’t see Quinn, the likely D coach turning the Rangers D into a hard nosed crew either. But all in all this was probably Millers worst season, after starting the slide last year. Maybe the new Ranger coaching staff can get him going. But with him it’s going to be all about money.

Miller was riding pretty high after Gallants last season coaching him. He had his lapses but no where near his last two seasons.  His slide started when Mr Laviolette and his ventriloquist dummy Phil got their hands on him. I’d be inclined to see if Sullivan can get him going. He could make a GM look pretty stupid if he goes to the right place.

This is pretty much how I'd feel as well, although it sounds like Sullivan isn't very high on him either for whatever reason, so I think that ship has sailed.  It's possible that Drury was in two minds still before hiring Sullivan, and that bringing him on sealed the deal.
