Two year one way $787,500 per. Nice reward, handy guy to have around. Payback for sitting if they bring in a new Center. Also won’t clear waivers, so here for the while.

No issue with this...hard to argue with the value he provides at that price point

Maybe the plan is Goodrow gone, new 3C, and Brodzynski moves to 4C.

Goodrow has a Modified No Trade Clause with I think a 6 team no trade list. Can we waive him? If somebody claims him great if not he goes to Hartford and if you need him on the 4th line in the playoffs you bring him up.

Goodrow has a 15 team modified no trade clause meaning he can be traded to the rest of the teams not on the list, without his permission, and the teams on the list with his permission. Most of which he'd go to with the right financial transaction. Modified NTC are another Agent driven thing to protect players going somewhere they do not ever want to go, and to suck money out of clubs to other teams on the list they would. And he can be waived, bought out, sent to Hartford. If the Rangers absolutely need his cap to make truly great deadline deals then ya trade him. Budget wise it comes down to Goodrow or Brodzynski at 4C if the mythical 3C shows up in a trade. Don't see Drury trading for two. Goodrow brings a lot of the physicality snarl the Rangers are still weak in. I get the money but he will play well in the playoffs. And I highly doubt he clears waivers.

His trade value is what? Who would want him at his cap hit? Plus he has 3 more seasons.

He has 2 points in his last 2 playoff runs with the Rangers.... He makes about 3x too much for the role player that he is. People complain about Kreider (7.8% of cap) who will bring~40 goals this season. Goodrow takes up 4.4% of the cap. If he is so good defensively I would get it, but Zib and Kreider are still top penalty killers and he should be taking that spot. Goodrow took 29 minutes (15 in one game) in penalties last playoffs against the Devils and he wasn't great on faceoffs.

The Rangers do need tough physical bottom 6 role players but he is not worth it at his cap hit.

Jimmy Vesey is way better at 25% of Goodrow's cost
