As a Ranger fan observing the SC Playoffs I must admit I am so envious of the Florida Panthers success and the way they play the game... And the thing that pisses me off is that we had Mikola and I don't know if he wanted to play here, or did we offer him anything to play here, but he is the type of Dman we are missing....He is SHINING at the most important time which is here in the playoffs. Yeah he is playing with a great supporting cast but his skills and tenacity are quite the spectacle. I would take him over anybody we have on D right now.

Lindgren (he was in year 3 of a $3million cap hit) has a really short shelf life at top pair minutes and stress. The Rangers did have a great regular season with Lindgren playing big minutes. Trading him might have effed with the room. He is that type of guy you need to motivate the others. Unfortunately, his heart and drive are bigger than his body.

We have the luxury of hindsight. Not anything hanging on our foresight decisions. However Drury and his minion's are paid the big bucks for their foresight on player development and correct opinions on what type and how good a player Buchnevich, Mikkola are going to be down the road. Those are two pretty big misses. A first line forward, a right wing the Rangers have been looking for since Buchnevich left. And what team in their right mind wouldn't want a top four Dman off the possible Stanley Cup winner. Big and mean. Especially since all the signs were there for all to see, when they were sent packing. Losing both was piss poor evaluating and cap management.
