I said Jones would never play here. Can't have two small defenseman. It's not a recipe for playoff success. Rangers won't send him down and lose him for nothing. They will keep him as an extra until they can work out a deal for him. They should get at least a 3rd rounder for him.

I think losing Emberson will probably make the Rangers less interested in trading him...at least before we get closer to the deadline. He has some utility given that he's comfortable playing both sides, but more importantly he provides an option to cover for injury, as do Harpur, Holloway and Mackey to varying degrees. Last year the Rangers quickly lacked depth on defense with Tinordi claimed and Lundkvist dealt.
