Perhaps Trouba could toss his helmet again.

One of the things that was reported over the Summer, is that the waiving of Barclay Goodrow (he was reportedly told 15 minutes before the transaction), and the aborted trade attempt of Trouba rubbed some of the Ranger players the wrong way.  Perhaps we're seeing that effect play out a bit here, with the Rangers basically being leaderless right now.

Hard to know without being in the locker room, but we already know that Kreider and Zibanejad aren't guys that speak up, and you'd have to think that Trouba isn't that invested in being the captain right now given how things were handled.

We'll have to see how this plays out, but hard to see who will step up to right the ship at this point, but the way the team played after hearing the news that they're listening to offers on Kreider suggests that Drury might be the one who lost the locker room

all true.

But this team was never winning the cup whether Goodrow was here or Trouba was all in. Besides Cuylle and Trocheck, there is zero grind from the other top 7 forwards. The d is erratic and unable to handle pressure - and the forwards contribute to the mess on D. The middle of the ice in front of the Rangers net is always open. If it were not for the goalies the Rangers record would be a lot worse. Plus - how can you count on Chytil? That is a huge missing piece.

If I am Igor I am never going to sign during the season unless there are big changes. Maybe Drury can work some miracles, but with the cap limits, it is hard to see how. But, if the Rangers do sign Igor, they continue to be in cap hell. There are no easy answers.
