Quitters. I doubt they make the playoffs. I’m sorry, they just don’t have what it takes. I’ve seen this movie before and it always ends the same way.

Amazing that for 3 coaches in a row, the team eventually reverts to this style of play regardless of the system employed.

The core needs a shake up but I doubt Drury has the guts or the brains to do it.

I have said for awhile the core has issues. On D serious questions about winning are valid with that core. If Trouba and Miller are not extraordinary and shutting down other teams top players the Rangers start off in trouble, then compounded by lightweights Fox and Lindgren gobbling up big minutes against the oppositions next best. As much as Lindgren competes he's not built to last playing his game. and Fox gets run down. Smart opposition coaches line up physical gritty players against them. Gustaffson has shown more than a few flashes lately of why he has bounced around, Schneider might be better served with a more physical battler as a partner.

Up front your not winning a cup with Brodcynski, Wheeler, Bonnino in your bottom six. The top six you can take a run with Lafreniere, Trochek and Panarin. They have been the teams best line. I know Kreider gets a lot of love on here but he is the most useless player on the team unless he is scoring goals. Which has created a problem. This year on the PP there is a concerted effort to feed him standing off to he side of the net.  The best weapon the Rangers have had the last few years was Zib's one timer off the dot. Rarely see passes getting to him, so he has a chance to beat the goalie coming across. Every player it seems is looking to feed Kreider, teams know it and play accordingly.

To me you want to change the core its Kreider that would be the guy. Most value in return hopefully bringing back a couple of battlers with hands. But its a moot point they are stuck with him and his no move clause. To bad.

Problem is most of the core has NMC. That has got to stop!

When was the last time a NVC prevented a player from being traded? Almost never happens. When a team says "we don't want you anymore", the player acquiesces.

When a player is given a NMC that player usually has a 10 or so no trade team list. All that it does is hamstring the organization, it gives all the power to the player and makes his tradability less in value

Disagree. Teams hand them out because they do little to hamper trades. By the time a player needs to go, both sides know it.

I agree that if teams sit down with a player "see MsDonagh in Tampa" and say you have to go they go. They can make it difficult with the trade but it usually gets done.
