Say what you want about coaches, the bottom line is the talent on this team is shyte. The top 6 is shyte. Look at the team’s minus leaders. The top 6 are the team’s top 6. And as much as I like Cuylle, he’s not a top 6 player. Panarin is always our scoring leader, but hurts the team more with his turnovers. ZiB, Miller and Trocheck are over the hill and can’t compete against the other team’s younger top lines. Lafreniere just plain sucks.

Amen!!!

Sam Rosen, for declaring "and this one will last a lifetime." I know it sounds silly, but somehow feel we are cursed. How do you explain drafting #2 & #1 overall consecutively, picking the consenus players at the time, and they both suck. I laugh at those posters who say "they don't know how to develop young talent." Bullshit. Some of these kids have been skating before they knew how to walk. They get to the bigs, what is there to develop? Being a fan for close to 60 years, I can blame just one person for where the team is today... The Dolt. If you're blaming the coach, I doubt you are watching the games.

If you have watched the games you have to have seen the shitty breakouts, shitty rare neutral zone regroups, because Rangers forwards forever dump it in because they are usually exhausted from running around in their end chasing the puck. The dumpins rarely result in establishing a forcheck. Even rarer quality breakouts leading to 2 on 1's or 3 on 2's that actually execute resulting in a decent scoring chance. That is on the coach all basic fundamental's any NHL team should be able to execute. Not even the Ranger players are that bad. Ranger mostly Veteran players are getting away with lazy selfish play all over the ice night after night. Good coaches don't allow that crap.

I concur with Sullivan. Nice of him to admit he doesn’t have a clue.

”””While Sullivan likely wants the takeaway to be that they will stick together and dig in to move forward, what stands out is something different. The head coach admitted he did not know the problem or the solutions plaguing his squad.

That is the most startling piece of all this. The two-time Stanley Cup-winning coach, one of the best in the entire NHL, has gone through half a season with the Rangers. To go through struggles is normal, but to have no idea why it's occurring or how to correct it is a damning place to be.””””

I can’t disagree more. We are the slowest skating team in the league. Why do you think we are always chasing? Slow. Why do you think we always dump in? No one fast enough to skate it in. We lost Kreider and got slower. We lost Lindgren and got slower. We added Gavorikv and got slower. Speed, or lack thereof is what’s kept Lafreniere from becoming a top talent. The same fate awaits the slow Perreault. Othmann too. Zibanejad, Miiller, Trocheck have all lost a step. Our #1 defenseman is painfully slow. There is just one player on this team that has what I would call “impressive speed”, and he’s your 3rd line center. I’m not saying all players have to have breakneck speed, but you need more than freakin one. Poor management. I’ve given Drury the benefit of doubt for five years. It’s time to let him go.

@steadyeddie

We agree on Drury. Coaching not so much. Plenty of teams out there with Ranger type talent that are getting by.  There is something seriously wrong with chemistry between players? players and Coach?. Players and management? This is a shit show replay of last year only a lot worse. Number 1 priority for the Rangers is the right G.M. Then he can decide on Sullivan. I don’t know what’s wrong is not what you want to hear from a coach.

Personally, I think the organization as a whole is the problem (with The Dolt at the top of the list).  I watch this team and I can't help but wonder just what the hell they do in practice.  This team is SOOOOOO bad at basic fundamentals it's almost laughable.

No matter how badly they play, as long as they're within reach of a playoff spot, The Dolt is having none of this "trade n tank" business.

Totally agree on the terrible fundamentals. Which is coaching. They are talented enough to complete passes. Constantly turning the puck over in their end and on and on.

Terrible fundamentals and zero accountability. Othmann should have been called up to play in place of Laf prior to this game. Why he was not benched is just stupidity personified. Laf is a shitstain.

Agreed. it's interesting how the same fans who used to say "give Laf some time," are the same fans who are now exasperated by his play. When he gave up the puck on the PP against the Sabres, the entire Garden let out a collective sigh. I wonder when they start giving him the Robitaiile treatment.

I don’t have an issue with having said give Laf some time Eddie. Right up til the start of this season. His contract is now atrocious signed by a G.M. who should be held accountable. This isn’t monopoly it’s real money and it’s the G.M.’s job to evaluate and pay accordingly.
